The Academy for Performing Arts at UCVTS presents "Les Misérables"

originally published: 03/02/2026

(RAHWAY, NJ) -- The Academy for Performing Arts at UCVTS presents Les Misérables at Union County Performing Arts Center (UCPAC) from March 13-15, 2026. Set in nineteenth-century France, Les Misérables is a sweeping epic of love, sacrifice, and redemption.

After years of unjust imprisonment, Jean Valjean breaks parole to begin a new life, determined to prove that mercy can triumph over hardship. But he is relentlessly pursued by Inspector Javert, a man bound to the law and unwilling to believe that people can truly change.

As revolution brews in the streets of Paris, students rise up and lives intertwine in a powerful story of courage, compassion, and hope. At its heart is a father’s devotion, a young woman’s dream, and a society on the brink of transformation.

Based on the novel by Victor Hugo and featuring one of the most iconic scores in musical theatre history, this School Edition captures all the passion and grandeur of the world’s longest-running musical in a streamlined production running just over two hours.

Performances take place Friday, March 13 at 7:00pm; Saturday, March 14 at 7:00pm; and Sunday, March 15 at 2:00pm. Tickets range from $19-$24 and are available for purchase online. Union County Performing Arts Center (UCPAC) is located at 1601 Irving Street in Rahway, New Jersey.
