(MATAWAN, NJ) -- Spotlight Players presents A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder across two weekends from November 7-16, 2025 at the Presbyterian Church of Matawan. Follow the ambitious (and slightly devious) Monty Navarro, who discovers he's in line to a family fortune. The only problem? There are eight D'Ysquith heirs standing in his way — and Monty isn't one to wait around for his inheritance.
Monty does what any ambitious gentleman might—he starts trimming the family tree! What follows is a riotous romp through Edwardian England, filled with charm, wit, and more than a few untimely demises. Packed with clever lyrics, lightning-fast character swaps, and devilishly funny twists, A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder will leave you laughing long after the curtain falls.
A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder is the knock-'em-dead, uproarious hit and the most-nominated show of the 2014 season. With ten Tony nominations and four wins, including Best Musical, Book, Direction and Costumes, it also earned seven Drama Desk Awards (including Best Musical), four Outer Critics Circle Awards (including Best Musical) and one Drama League Award (Best Musical).
Performances take place Friday, November 7 at 8:00pm; Saturday, November 8 at 8:00pm; Sunday, November 9 at 3:00pm; Friday, November 14 at 8:00pm; Saturday, November 15 at 8:00pm; and Sunday, November 16 at 3:00pm. Tickets are available for purchase online. First Presbyterian Church is located at 883 Route 34 in Matawan, New Jersey.
