(WOODBRIDGE, NJ) -- The Woodbridge Community Players presents The Wedding Singer July 22-24 and July 29-30 at The Theater at Woodbridge Middle School. The Wedding Singer takes us back to a time when hair was big, greed was good, collars were up and a wedding singer might just be the coolest guy in the room. Based on the hit Adam Sandler movie, The Wedding Singer's sparkling new score does for the '80s what Hairspray did for the '60s. Just say yes to the most romantic musical in twenty years.

It's 1985, and rock star wannabe, Robbie Hart, is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer. He's the life of the party until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection. As luck would have it, Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and, unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever.

Performances take place Friday, July 22 at 7:30pm; Saturday, July 23 at 7:30pm; Sunday, July 24 at 2:00pm; Friday, July 29 at 7:30pm; and Saturday, July 30 at 7:30pm. Tickets are available for purchase online. The Theater at Woodbridge Middle School is located at 525 Barron Avenue in Woodbridge, New Jersey.

The Wedding Singer features a Book by Chad Beguelin & Tim Herlihy; Music by Matthew Sklar; and lyrics by Chad Beguelin. It is based on the New Line Cinema film by Tim Herlihy.  The Wedding Singer reached Broadway in 2006 and was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Musical.
