The Makin Waves Song of the Week is “Honeydew” by Jersey Shore singer-songwriter Via Crowe.
Born and raised near a beach, Jersey Shore songstress Via Crowe is spreading her wings from Boston to New York City to Nashville.
Along the way, she dropped her Mint 400 Records debut single, “Honeydew,” the Makin Waves Song of the Week.
As the Makin Waves Song of the Week, “Honeydew” also can be heard between 6 and 8 p.m. on July 11 on “Radio Jersey at ThePenguinRocks.com. If you miss it, you can tune in any time in the archives at The Penguin and Mixcloud.
“Honeydew” follows Via’s self-released 2023 debut LP, “Unfinished,” which was inspired by her teenage experiences.
As she grows into adulthood, Via is also growing into her own unique musical voice. This genre shift isn't just a new sound — it's a deeper dive into who Via is becoming.
As she grows up, her music is growing with her, embracing the sincerity and soul of folk music, while still carrying the emotional intensity of her indie pop past. With “Honeydew,” she leans into the storytelling heart of folk with intimate lyrics.
“This song offers listeners a sweet, acoustic-laced reflection on change and growth,” she said.
