It now reaches thousands of people annually through its repertoire which runs from Spanish Gypsy Flamenco and classical works to cross cultural programs that celebrate Hispanic cultural influences and beyond. Artistic Director Eva Lucena-Welch received a “Lifetime Achievement for the Arts” Award from the Ocean County Cultural and Heritage Commission and the company has been praised by the critics. Robert Johnson called Alborada “mesmerizing” in his Star-Ledger review and the New York Times praised their “impassioned footwork.”
