Lomotion Live presents a screening of "It Will All Seem Funny"

originally published: 01/26/2024

(BOONTON, NJ) -- Calling all Bruce fans! Lomotion Live has announced a special last minute FREE event. On Saturday, January 27 at 7:00pm, they will present a screening of It Will All Seem Funny by Julian Garcia at The Parsippany Arts Center. There will be a live performance before and a Talk Back after the screening. The film details one of Bruce Springsteen's most notable moments in his concert history.

On July 8, 1978, Bruce Springsteen performed at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix. Toward the end of his set with the E Street Band, Springsteen broke into a rollicking version of Rosalita, and what followed became part of rock and roll history.

Throughout the more than 9 minute performance, Springsteen was “attacked” onstage by numerous women, eventually being knocked to the stage before gathering himself to complete the song.

Now, more than four decades later, Montville-based journalist Julian Garcia is telling the story of what went down that night. Featuring interviews with two of the women involved, as well as one insider who was there that night, Garcia’s 20-minute film “It Will All Seem Funny” takes the audience behind the scenes and tells the story of one of the most famous stage crashes in music history.

The screening will feature a Q&A with Garcia and a live music performance by local artists. This is a free event but advance registration is required.  The Parsippany Arts Center is located at 1130 Knoll Road in Boonton, New Jersey.

Two

Two amazing shorts screen at Fall 2025 New Jersey Film Festival on Sunday, September 7!

One of the most interesting facets of art is how different artists can choose to represent the same themes based on their experiences in feelings. Oftentimes, subjects or ideas can manifest in different ways for certain artists, creating differences in how they depict them. One may represent a subject through a faster-moving and vibrant work, while another may portray it as gloomy and stoic.  Despite these two depictions being vastly different, they both represent the subject and how the artist connects and views it. Two great examples of this contrast of portrayals within the theme of loss are Martin Gerigk’s Prayer of the Sea and Sasha Alexander Vorobyev’s What a Surprise. These works differ greatly in their story and look, but both experiment with color and shot size to explore the complex theme of loss.
