Lisa Bouchelle & The Bleu Have a Top 20 Track!

originally published: 09/01/2023

Lisa Bouchelle & The Bleu is in a place where few indie artists ever find themselves - cracking the Top 20 of Billboard charts! Their song, "Love Is For The Making," came in at #17 for Billboard's Adult Contemporary charts for the week of September 2, 2023 and videos utilizing the song have garnered over 4.6 million views on TikTok.

This marks their second straight track to reach the Top 25, following the album's first single, "Jump In!" which reached #21. Artists ahead of Lisa in the Top 20 currently include Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Sia, Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran, Luke Combs, David Guetta & Bebe Rexha, Lewis Capaldi, Dua Lipa, Rema & Selena Gomez, Kelly Clarkson, Morgan Wallen, Metro Boomin, The Weeknd & 21 Savage, and Lauren Daigle. Household names and rarified air to be sure, but Lisa's track is still climbing so who knows how far she can go!

Written and performed by Lisa Bouchelle & The Bleu, and recorded in collaboration with Mike Schmid (keyboardist with Miley Cyrus). "Love is still the answer, Still the truth, And still the plan..." Even in this day and age of division and differences between people, "Love" can still bring people together!

The track features Lisa Bouchelle (Vocals, Acoustic Guitar), Mike Schmid (Keyboards), Shawn Pelton (Drums), Hal B. Selzer (Bass Guitar, Producer), Jimmy Leahey (Acoustic Guitar), Steve Brown (Acoustic Guitar), and Stephen DeAcutis (Electric Guitar, Drums). It was mixed by Stephen DeAcutis and Obie O’Brien with additional engineering by Mike Schmid and Mike Lawson. The video concept & design came from Tom Henry (fxman.net) with live footage shot by Roshon Tyson (2677 Films).

Other tracks that have garnered rave reviews include “Twice As Tall,” which features a Gospel choir and is an ode to standing up strong in the face of adversity; the soaring duet “I Believe,” which implores one to believe in one’s dreams no matter the odds; a modern take on the classic “Fever”; and “Waterproof,” a bonus track on the digital release that has been an inspiration to many listeners fighting through tough times.

Lisa has her own, unique sound, which might be called Alt-Americana for her acoustic guitar-based, Americana music with an edge. The music she writes unapologetically encompasses a wide variety of genres, including Americana, pop, singer-songwriter, gospel, classic rock, and more. The songs are all based around her unique acoustic guitar grooves, and her lyrics are often about empowerment and believing in oneself, and one's dreams; about not being afraid to take chances in life; to overcome your fears, to go for it, and “Jump In!”

Lisa has sung backup for Bruce Springsteen and dueted in concert with Jon Bon Jovi; recorded with musical luminaries ranging from John Popper of Blues Traveler to James LeBrie of Dream Theater; toured with and/or opened for artists such as The Wallflowers, Train, Blues Traveler, Jason Mraz, Bryan Adams, Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze, Don Felder of The Eagles, Shooter Jennings, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Colbie Callait, Steve Miller, America, Donavon Frankenreiter, and The Wailers, among others.

In addition to her own musical endeavors, Lisa has found the time to appear in a number of off-Broadway productions, and is the creator and host of the regional hit TV show Rock Star Kitchen, which airs twice weekly on The Comcast Network in the mid-Atlantic region.

Lisa first started singing at a young age and sang non-stop… because although her parents loved her deeply, the only time they would stop their constant arguing was when little Lisa sang. So, she sang as much as she could, whenever she could, feeling that it was up to her to keep peace in the household. Now, after losing her father to complications from a heart operation, and her mother to alcoholism, she still finds refuge in her music.

Her fans and listeners often comment that they can feel her emotion as if it were their own, and when they hear a song of hers, they immediately know, "That's a Lisa Bouchelle song!" As Goldmine Magazine proclaimed in their review of Jump In!... “Upbeat, empowering, dynamic, and distinctive… anthemic intensity and a full measure of absolute resolve… proof positive that Bouchelle’s stardom is all but assured.”
