Joan Osborne to Appear on November 17th at Red Bank, NJ’s Vogel Theater

In support of her latest album, Radio Waves, singer/songwriter Joan Osborne will perform at Count Basie Center for the Arts’ Vogel Theater in Red Bank, NJ on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 8:00 pm.

Osborne, a seven-time Grammy Award nominee known for her work in the area of pop, soul, R&B, blues, and country, started her career as a part of the New York City music scene. In the Big Apple, she attended open-mic nights before ultimately being launched into the spotlight with the breakout single from her 1995 album, Relish, “One of Us.”

Osborne’s considerable vocal talents have made her a sought-after performer both in the United States and around the world. She not only sang with Motown’s legendary Funk Brothers in the acclaimed 2002 film, Standing in the Shadows of Motown, but she has also shared the stage with such varied performers as Melissa Etheridge, Emmylou Harris, Stevie Wonder, Taj Mahal, Luciano Pavarotti, and Bob Dylan.

Following her 2017 recording, Songs of Bob Dylan, and her critically acclaimed 2020 album, Trouble and Strife, Osborne’s latest release is her 2022 effort, Radio Waves. The 13-song album is a hand-picked assortment of Osborne’s favorite live appearances selected from more than 100 radio station performances over the course of her career.

Starting with “Saint Teresa” from a 1995 KCRW session in LA, the album ends with Osborne’s take on Sly and the Family Stone’s “Everybody is a Star,” which she performed at Los Angeles’ KROQ in 2002. In between, it also features live interpretations of songs including Cass Elliot’s “Dream a Little Dream of Me,” Marvin Gaye’s “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You),” and Stevie Wonder’s “Love’s In Need of Love Today.”
