interACT Theatre Productions presents "9 to 5, the Musical"

originally published: 03/30/2026

(MAPLEWOOD, NJ) -- interACT Theatre Productions presents 9 to 5, the Musical across two weekends from April 17 to May 2, 2026 at The Burgdorff Center for the Performing Arts. The musical features music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnik.  It is based on the 20th Century Fox Picture.

Pushed to the boiling point, three female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy – giving their boss the boot!

While Hart remains "otherwise engaged," the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down. Hey, a girl can scheme, can't she?

The production is directed by Nicholas J. Clarey.

Performances take place Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30pm and Sunday matinees at 3:00pm. Tickets are available for purchase online. The Burgdorf Center for the Performing Arts is located at 10 Durand Road in Maplewood, New Jersey.
