Hot Rods and Harleys to take place in Rahway

originally published: 05/07/2024

(RAHWAY, NJ) -- Mayor Raymond Giacobbe, Rahway City Council, and U4 Guys are proud to present Hot Rods and Harleys on Saturday, May 11, 2024. Back for its 21st year, Hot Rods and Harleys invite residents to enjoy a day filled with classic cars, hot rods, custom bikes, live music street vendors, food trucks, and more. As always, the event is free to the public, but there is a $20 day-of car or bike registration fee.

Bike registration is at the Train Station Plaza, and car registration is on Main Street, near the firehouse. Cars arriving after 1:00pm will not be judged but can enter the show. Awards for the Car and Bike shows are given out between 3:00pm and 4:00pm, but the festivities will not stop there.

The event will continue with its familiar MusicFest format, including three stages around downtown featuring live music. The Train Plaza Beer Garden lineup includes Midnight Rock Show, X-Kat, Trophies, That Metal Band, and Into the Void. The Poplar and Main Street features Ultraviolet, Electric Beach, Gutter Cats, Pipe Smoke and Gasoline, and Beer Goggles. Lastly, the Poplar and Irving Street Stage will feature Long in The Tooth, Shower Cats, Split In-Decision, Newborn Kings, and Fast Forward.

“Each year, Hot Rods and Harleys offer classic cars, hot rods, music, community, excitement, and a perfectly unique Rahway experience,” said Mayor Raymond Giacobbe. “The City Council and I are honored to welcome the event back for its 21st year and I encourage all Rahway residents to make the most of this incredible event.”

This year, Radio Station Q104.3 and Maria Milito will be onsite with a live broadcast to share the event over the airwaves, along with DJ "Hot Rod" Mike. Attendees are encouraged to make the most of the street and food vendors, visit local businesses, and explore the many restaurants of Downtown Rahway. New this year is an 8 ft Transformer ‘Bumblebee’ from Jaxon's Carnival of Characters that will be available for meet and greet pictures.
