Freedom Mortgage Pavilion presents Lamb Of God, Killswitch Engage, Baroness & Suicide Silence

(CAMDEN, NJ) -- Killswitch Engage are hitting the road with Lamb of God on the Omen Tour, coming to Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden on Saturday, September 10th. The two bands have been tourmates many times through the years and this Fall 2022 tour looks to be one of their best treks together yet! The lineup for Camden also includes Baroness & Suicide Silence.

Grammy-nominated Killswitch Engage first shook the structure of heavy music upon climbing out of snowy industrialized Western Massachusetts in 1999. A musical outlier, the band pioneered a union of thrashed-out European guitar pyrotechnics, East Coast hardcore spirit, on-stage hijinks, and enlightened lyricism that set the pace for what the turn-of-the-century deemed heavy.

Receiving gold certifications for The End of Heartache [2004] and As Daylight Dies [2006], the group landed three consecutive Top 10 debuts on the Billboard Top 200 with Killswitch Engage [2009], Disarm The Descent [2013], and their career high best bow at #6 with Incarnate [2016]. The latter two releases would also both capture #1 on the Top Rock Albums and Top Hard Rock Albums charts. Their total streams have exceeded half-a-billion to date. Along the way, the band has shared stages with some of the biggest acts in the world and have sold out countless headline gigs in six continents across the globe. 2019 represented another turning point. The quintet—Adam Dutkiewicz [lead guitar], Joel Stroetzel [rhythm guitar], Mike D'Antonio [bass], Justin Foley [drums], and Jesse Leach [vocals]—sharpened every side of this signature sound on their eighth full-length and first for Metal Blade, Atonement. Their most critically acclaimed album in at least 15 years, Atonement debuted #2 on the Billboard Top Album chart, #13 on the Billboard Top 200, and once again #1 on both the Top Rock and Hard Rock Album charts.

Lamb of God is one of the most prolific bands to emerge from the new wave of the American heavy metal movement. The band’s aggressive riffs, catchy grooves, and powerful double bass drumming have captured the attention of heavy metal listeners. Here was a band who came out dressed in plain back shirts and cargo trousers. There was no gimmick, no outrageous masks nor black eyeliners – just long-haired dudes from Richmond, Virginia, who wanted to play metal.

The band had their first breakthrough with their sophomore album, As the Palaces Burn. The 2003 studio effort entered the Billboard 200 chart, landing at number 64. As the Palaces Burn was preceded by its title track and “Ruin.” By the time Lamb of God dropped their fourth album, Sacrament, they had cultivated a massive following. Thanks to the band’s loyal supporters and ever-curious casual listeners, Sacrament soared to number 8 on the Billboard 200, number 2 on the Top Rock Albums, and number 3 on the Top Tastemakers Albums charts. The 2006 album features two of Lamb of God’s landmark singles, “Redneck” and “Walk with Me in Hell.” Lamb of God released their most successful album, Wrath, in 2009. The record peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200, their highest-charting effort to date. Moreover, the album topped three other Billboard charts, including Top Rock Albums and Top Hard Rock Albums.

"Two decades ago, Lamb of God, along with Killswitch Engage, were a part of a new wave of American heavy metal music. Our scene grew from a small, loosely connected network of underground shows in basements and warehouses, into a global phenomenon that helped define an entire generation of modern heavy metal. We are thrilled to announce The Omens Tour, which celebrates not only the perseverance and impact of that original movement, but also the creativity and originality of the bands that it influenced. Heavy metal is alive and well” says Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton.
