Thursday, August 3, 2023 - MPAC presents Laurel Canyon Band - A Tribute to Crosby Still, Nash & Young. (MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Enjoy the iconic music of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, played to perfection by Laurel Canyon Band, Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC). Featuring recreations of their seminal works as well as songs from their early bands and their solo years, Laurel Canyon is a trio consisting of Grammy Award winning writer/producer Mark Hudson, Hall of Fame Songwriter Gary Burr, and singer songwriter Mark Mirando. Showtime is 8:00pm.

Thursday, August 3, 2023 - Alpha Arts Players at Sussex County Community College Presents a New Play, "And Every Creeping Thing" by New Jersey Playwright Eric Craft. (NEWTON, NJ) -- It's the second day of creation, and the angels are hard at work creating plants, animals, fish, birds and . . . Insects. . . and every creeping thing. There's a problem with the food chain! How do the celestial beings solve this crisis before the seventh day?

Friday, August 4, 2023 - State Theatre presents Lyle Lovett and His Large Band. (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents Lyle Lovett and His Large Band on Friday, August 4 at 8:00pm. A singer, composer and actor, Lyle Lovett has broadened the definition of American music in a career that spans 14 albums. Coupled with his gift for storytelling, the Texas-based musician fuses elements of country, swing, jazz, folk, gospel, and blues in a convention-defying manner that breaks down barriers.

Friday, August 4, 2023 - Brick City Comedy Revue to Celebrate 9 Years In Newark. (NEWARK, NJ) -- Brick City Comedy Revue, Newark's premier comedy showcase will celebrate 9 years in Newark on Friday, August 4, 2023 at Kilkenny Alehouse. This edition of the monthly show, hosted by Justin Williams and DJ Gonzalo Silva, features Jordan Temple, Kevin McCaffrey, Tiz Irie, and Reggie Kush (AKA the GOAT) with Pat Wise as the musical guest. Showtime is 8:00pm.

Friday, August 4, 2023 - bergenPAC presents Classic Journey Live. (ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) presents Classic Journey Live on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 8:00pm. Classic Journey Live is a tribute to Journey unlike any other. Take a ride with Journey as they rise from their San Francisco roots to superstardom and international fame. Step back in time to experience the story as it begins with Gregg Rolie (David Krol) and legendary frontman Steve Perry (Larry Pascale) together on stage, performing the early hits, just as you remember them.

Saturday, August 5, 2023 - State Theatre New Jersey and WMTR present Grease Sing-A-Long. (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey and WMTR present Grease Sing-A-Long in celebration of the movie's 45th anniversary on Saturday, August 5 at 8:00pm. The Grease soundtrack boasts several unforgettable songs, including "Greased Lightnin’," "Look at Me, I’m Sandra Dee," "Summer Nights," the Academy Award -nominated "Hopelessly Devoted to You," "Beauty School Drop Out" and, of course, the eponymous title track "Grease."

Saturday, August 5, 2023 - bergenPAC presents Don Felder. (ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- Don Felder, former lead guitarist of The Eagles, will perform at Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 8:00pm. Tickets range from $45-$85.

Tuesday, August 1, 2023 - See Artists Paint Live in "Art Takes the Bench!" on National Night Out in New Milford. (NEW MILFORD, NJ) -- The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation (NNJCF) ArtsBergen invites the public to watch three artists paint live themed designs on benches in "Art Takes the Bench!" in New Milford on National Night Out. The fun takes place on Tuesday, August 1 from 3:30pm through dusk in Kennedy Field behind the New Milford Borough Hall, located at 930 River Road in New Milford, New Jersey. The field may be reached by turning onto Robert K. Chester Way off of River Road.  The event is free-of-charge and open to the public.

Tuesday, August 1, 2023 - Ocean County Library Toms River Branch to Display Art by Steve Moran. (TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- The Ocean County Library Toms River Branch is pleased to present an exhibit of air-brushings and paintings by Toms River-based artist Steve Moran throughout the month of August 2023.

Tuesday, August 1, 2023 - "Seussical the Musical" Enters Final Week at Centenary Stage Company. (HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Centenary Stage Company’s production of Seussical the Musical continues this week from Wednesday, August 2 through Sunday, August 6, 2023. This marks the final weekend of the production, which is the last in the lineup of Summerfest 2023 for CSC. Performances take place in the Sitnik Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center of the Centenary University campus at 715 Grand Avenue, Hackettstown, NJ.

Wednesday, August 2, 2023 - Pantera to Play Two Shows in New Jersey this August. (CAMDEN, NJ) -- Pantera, one of the most successful and influential bands in heavy metal history, have announced their long awaited return to the stage. They will be touring North America this summer with Lamb of God as special guests. The band will headline a show at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden on Wednesday, August 2nd and support Metallica at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on Friday, August 4th.

Wednesday, August 2, 2023 - East Lynne Theater Co. presents "Driving Miss Daisy". (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Cape May's famed East Lynne Theater Company will present Alfred Uhry's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Driving Miss Daisy from August 2 to September 2, 2023. Driving Miss Daisy relays the story of Daisy Werthan, an elderly Southern Jewish woman, and her African-American chauffeur, Hoke Coleburn. When Miss Daisy crashes her car into a garage, her son Boolie hires Hoke to drive her wherever she needs to go. The duo forms an unlikely, decades-long friendship.

Thursday, August 3, 2023 - Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association presents "Symphonic Decibels: Great Works for Orchestra and Organ". (OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association (OGCMA) will present the finale to its popular "Summer Stars" classical series on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove NJ. "Symphonic Decibels: Great Works for Orchestra and Organ" will feature works by Mendelssohn, Boellmann and Saint-Saens performed by the Mid Atlantic Orchestra, under the direction of Jason Tramm and the Great Auditorium Pipe Organ, played by Gordon Turk. The concert begins at 7:30pm.

Thursday, August 3, 2023 - 12th Annual Crossing Borders (Cruzando Fronteras) Festival Preview. (RED BANK, NJ) -- Two River Theater has announced casting for their highly anticipated Crossing Borders (Cruzando Fronteras) Festival of new plays by Latine playwrights, set to run Thursday, August 3 through Sunday, August 6, 2023 in Two River's Joan and Robert Rechnitz Theater.

Thursday, August 3, 2023 - Axelrod Performing Arts Center presents a Tribute to the Music of James Taylor and Carole King. (DEAL PARK, NJ) -- Take a trip back to the '70s when Troubadours, a tribute to the music of James Taylor and Carole King, comes to the Axelrod Performing Arts Center on Thursday, August 3, 2023. Deb De Lucca and Sam Hyman provide an enchanting evening celebrating the music of these beloved performers. Showtime is 8:00pm.

Friday, August 4, 2023 - The Newton Theatre presents Lita Ford. (NEWTON, NJ) -- The Newton Theatre presents Lita Ford on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 8:00pm. Lita is an English-born American guitarist, vocalist and songwriter. She was the lead guitarist for the all-female rock band the Runaways in the late 1970s, before embarking on a successful glam metal solo career.

Friday, August 4, 2023 - The Off Broad Street Players to present "The Wedding Singer". (MILLVILLE, NJ) -- The Off Broad Street Players will present The Wedding Singer across two weekends in August (August 4-6 and August 10-13, 2023) at The Levoy Theatre. The play takes place in 1985, and rock star wannabe, Robbie Hart, is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer. He's the life of the party until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar.

Friday, August 4, 2023 - Luna Stage's Teen Summer Conservatory presents "Middletown" by Will Eno. (WEST ORANGE, NJ) -- Luna Stage's Teen Summer Conservatory celebrates its fifth season this year. Over the course of four weeks, students engage in a conservatory-style training program culminating in a public performance on Luna's MainStage. The experience encourages teens to forge a meaningful connection to theatre and engage with the community. This year's conservatory production will be Middletown by Will Eno, running August 4-6, 2023.

The acclaimed vocalist who has shared the stage with Julie Andrews and landed a platinum record touring with the prog / rock locomotive Trans-Siberian Orchestra wants you to hear some of the greatest songs ever written the way they were intended to be heard.

Friday, August 4, 2023 - Music Mountain Theatre presents "On the Town". (LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) -- Music Mountain Theatre presents On the Town, one of America's greatest musical comedies, weekends from August 4-20, 2023. With the pomp and fanfare of New York City, the brassy lyricism of Leonard Bernstein, and the sweet immediacy of a day of freedom during a time of war, On the Town is an American classic, beloved both for its moment in history and for its timeless qualities of youth and exuberance.

Friday, August 4, 2023 - Nat Adderley, Jr. Quartet to Perform at NBPAC on Friday. (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The New Brunswick Jazz Project and New Brunswick Performing Arts Center (NBPAC) present Grammy-nominated Nat Adderley, Jr. Quartet on Friday, August 4, 2023 at NBPAC. Nat is an American pop, rhythm, and blues music arranger and pianist who spent much of his music career arranging as music director for Luther Vandross tours and contributed as co-songwriter on most of Vandross's albums. Showtime is 7:00pm.

Saturday, August 5, 2023 - The Newton Theatre presents Joan Osborne on August 5th. (NEWTON, NJ) -- The Newton Theatre presents Joan Osborne on Saturday, August 5, 2023. Since she broke through 25 years ago with the multi-platinum Relish and its touchstone mega-smash "One of Us," the seven-time Grammy nominee has never played it safe. Osborne has followed her restless musical heart, exploring a diverse range of genres: pop rock, soul, R&B, blues, roots rock, gospel, funk, and country. Tickets range from $39-$59. Doors are at 7:00pm; showtime is 8:00pm.

Saturday, August 5, 2023 - Sherman Theater presents From Good Homes at The Fields at Waterloo. Saturday, August 5, 2023 - Art House Gallery presents "Vertical Horizons" by Robert Koch. (JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- In celebration of Jersey City PRIDE month, Art House Productions presents new work by Jersey City-based steel artist Robert Koch in the Art House Gallery, August 5 - August 27, 2023. At this exhibit, Koch will present a variety of steel sculptures as well as mixed-media paintings.
