BlowUpRadio.com's New & Notable NJ Music: 9/12/22

By Lazlo

originally published: 09/12/2022

Lazlo, founder of BlowUpRadio.com (an online station based around New Jersey artists), shines a light on some of the many new releases from NJ based musicians each week with this column. This week Lazlo takes a look at releases by jpeck, Julian Cartwright, Social Media & Shocking Twist, and Chris Batten & The Woods.

jpeck - "Come What May" - "Come What May" is the first solo release from the Peck half of Bosco & Peck. Like the duo band project, jpeck's EP is great adult alternative music, with soul and folk combining in very moving music.

Julian Cartwright - "Candy Stripe Heaven" - "Candy Stripe Heaven" is a beautiful, contemplative, indie-folk-rock album.

Social Media & Shocking Twist - "Half Smile" [single] - The first single from the collaboration of Social Media & Shocking Twist evokes 1980's chill synth-pop in the best way. Looking forward to hearing the rest of their EP out on October 28th.

Chris Batten & The Woods - "Do It All Over" - Surprise... at least it was to me. After 15 years, Chris Batten & The Woods is back with a new single, and it is quite the catchy mid-tempo pop-rocker. I understand this is the first of several singles, so be on the lookout for more new music from them soon.
