OCVTS Grunin Performing Arts Academy presents "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child"
 

(TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- OCVTS Grunin Performing Arts Academy presents Harry Potter and the Cursed Child High School Edition, based on an original story by J. K. Rowling, John Tiffany, and Jack Thorne, by bringing the excitement of the wizarding world to our local community. Performances take place November 22-24, 2024 on the Grunin Center for the Arts Main Stage.

 



Algonquin Arts Theatre Announces Casting and Creative Team for "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown"

(ORADELL, NJ) -- Bergen County Players (BCP) will host a special post-show talkback with actor, comedian, jazz musician, and author Lea DeLaria, on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the Little Firehouse Theatre. DeLaria will answer audience questions on her characterization of POTUS' zany sister, Bernadette. She'll also update viewers on the unique trajectory of her career, as well as how being openly gay has shaped it.

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) is set to celebrate all the joys of the holiday season with Broadway vocalist Andrea Ross at this year's Holiday POPS! concerts on Saturday, December 14, 2024. (BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- Raritan Valley Community College's Arts & Design department will present "An Afternoon with Korean Violin Virtuoso Dr. Jinyoung Song Featuring Dr. Rachel Yunkyung Choo, Piano," Sunday, December 15, 2024 at 3:00pm. The hourlong event, part of RVCC's MOZAIKA Chamber Music Concert Series, will be held in the Welpe Theatre at the College's Branchburg campus.

New Jersey Film Festival Spring 2025 Schedule Announced
 

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The Rutgers Film Co-op/New Jersey Media Arts Center, in association with the Rutgers University Program in Cinema Studies, is proud to present the New Jersey Film Festival Spring 2025 which marks its 43rd Anniversary. The Festival will be taking place on select Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays between January 24-February 21, 2025. The Festival will once again be a hybrid one as they will be presenting it online as well as doing in-person screenings at Rutgers University.

Zimmerli Exhibit Showcases Rarely Shown Large-Scale Nonconformist Art
 

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Painting to Scale, the latest exhibition at the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, boasts rarely shown, large-scale artwork from the Norton and Nancy Dodge Collection of Nonconformist Art from the Soviet Union. The exhibit, which runs from November 13, 2024 through October 5, 2025, features 60 works by artists from Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, and Russia.

New Jersey Council for the Humanities Awards 2024 Stanley N. Katz Prize for Excellence in Public Humanities to Ritual4Return
 

(CAMDEN, NJ) -- The New Jersey Council for the Humanities (NJCH) recently announced the recipient of the 2024 Stanley N. Katz Prize for Excellence in Public Humanities, as well an honorable mention. Ritual4Return was awarded the top prize in recognition of its program offering an intensive 12-week healing workshop incorporating storytelling, theater, literature, and rites of passage for citizens returning from incarceration.

(ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- A new exhibit at the Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University will celebrate two southern New Jersey tribal communities through the display of historical documents, traditional artifacts and contemporary art. "Still Here: The Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape and Powhatan-Renape Nations of Southern New Jersey" opens October 9 and runs until January 5, 2025.
