Westminster Conservatory Faculty Recital Series to present two free children

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Westminster Conservatory of Music will present Music Makes Me..., an interactive program intended for children ages 10 and under, on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at 2:30pm, with a repeat performance at 4:00pm. The concerts will take place in Hillman Performance Hall in the Marion Buckelew Cullen Music Center, (101 Walnut Lane) in Princeton. It is open to the public free of charge.

The forty-five minute program will explore how music can both express and affect emotions, and will include arrangements of well-known favorites, including Brahms’ Lullaby and variations of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, as well as the effervescent overture to Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro and Grieg’s Morning Mood from Peer Gynt. Members of the audience will be invited to dance, march and sing along.

The performers — Ellen Fisher Deerberg and Kevin Willois, flute; Melissa Bohl, oboe and English horn; Ken Ellison, clarinet; Michael Green, trumpet; Danielle Sinclair, soprano; and Eric Houghton, Michael Jacobsen and Kathy Shanklin, piano  —  are members of the teaching faculty at Westminster Conservatory of Music.
