(RED BANK, NJ) -- On Saturday, March 18, The Vogel hosted A Marvelous Night: The Music of Van Morrison. This is one of Pat Guadagno's signature shows where he pays tribute to a legend with support from the Gypsy Souls, an excellent cast of artists. Photographer John Posada was on hand to take photos.
Jersey Shore music scene veteran Pat Guadagno is regarded as one of the best vocalists in the Garden State. His unique interpretations of other artist works are showcased in both his recordings and live performances where he creates reverent theatrical tributes to Tom Waits – Heart of Saturday Night, John Prine – Souvenirs, Bob Dylan – BobFest, and Van Morrison – A Marvelous Night.
Performers alongside Guadagno included Rob Paparozzi, Michael Ghegan, Joe Bellia, Pam McCoy, Red River Rizzo, Ed Alstrom, Steven Delopoulos, and Maximum Horns (Max Morden and Tommy Labella). Remember Jones made an appearance at the end singing the Van Morrison song "Caravan."
The Vogel is located on the Basie Campus at 99 Monmouth Street in Red Bank, New Jersey.
Guadgano will return to The Basie on Wednesday, May 31 for BobFest. With Blues Brother Rob Paparozzi and Tired Horses, ‘A curious congregation of extremely talented musicians, who each bring their individual brand of magic to the stage’ Pat Guadagno will ‘Soon shake the Windows and rattle the Walls’ of the Count Basie Center, celebrating 25 years of delivering the music of Bob Dylan as only he can.
BobFest started on a rainy Monday night, in response to a spontaneous challenge to recognize the Rock & Roll Poet Laureate’s birthday, Pat Guadagno sang ‘every Bob Dylan song I knew’. From those humble beginnings at a local Downtown Café, 25 years ago, BobFest, the musical celebration of Bob Dylan’s Birthday, has grown to become Red Bank’s Hippest Musical Event, dubbed so, by the late rock journalist Uncle Mike.
