Centenary Stage Company to Hold Auditions for 2022 Summer Productions

originally published: 04/08/2022

(HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- The Centenary Stage Company, a professional not for profit theater located on the Campus of Centenary University, will be holding, non-equity open auditions for the 2022 summer stock productions of RENT and The Marvelous Wonderettes.  Auditions will be held on Saturday, May 14th from 12:00pm – 8:00pm in the David and Carol Lackland Center located on the campus of Centenary University at 715 Grand Ave Hackettstown, NJ. CSC will launch the summer season with the hit rock musical RENT. Based on Puccini’s beloved opera La BohèmeRENT follows the ups and downs of a year in the life of a group of impoverished, artistic friends living in Manhattan’s East Village. The group’s dreams, losses, and love stories weave through the musical’s narration to paint a stunningly raw and emotional portrait of the gritty bohemian world of New York City in the late 1980s, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.

The summer season continues with the smash off – broadway hit The Marvelous Wonderettes. Take a step back in time and join Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy at the Springfield High School class of 1958 Super Senior Prom, as these four best friends navigate relationships, growing up, and following their dreams. In Act II, long after prom night has ended, the Wonderettes reunite a decade later for a special performance at Springfield High’s 10-year reunion featuring over 30 classics from the 50’s and 60’s The Marvelous Wonderettes will keep you smiling in this must-see musical trip down memory lane.
