(NEW YORK, NY) -- The Weeklings begin a six-date residency at The Cutting Room in New York City on Thursday, January 19. The Beatles-influenced power pop group is led by Glen Burtnik (Lefty) and Bob Burger (Zeek) alongside John Merjave (Rocky) and Joe Bellia (Smokestack). Together they perform uncovered lost Lennon/McCartney tunes and originals written in the British Invasion vein.
"Little Elvis" from the band's most recent album was voted #2 song in Little Steven's Underground Garage's Top 10 For 2016 as voted by listeners of the popular radio show.
Showcasing their dedication to the music, the band traveled to England to record their "Studio 2" album using vintage equipment from the 1960s in the legendary Abbey Road Studio where The Beatles themselves recorded. Released in November 2016, the album features eight Beatles-influenced songs written by members of The Weeklings, plus four Beatles rarities including unreleased songs penned by both Lennon/McCartney and Lennon/McCartney/Harrison.
The Cutting Room is located at 44 E 32nd Street in New York City. Doors open at 6:30pm and the show begins at 7:30pm. The residency continues on select Thursday evenings in January and February.
