Two River Theater To Honor Its Founders at 25th Anniversary Gala

(RED BANK, NJ) -- Two River Theater will honor its founders, Joan and Robert Rechnitz, at its 25th Anniversary Gala on Saturday, May 18, 2019. The evening’s Honorary Chairs are Dorothea and Jon Bon Jovi (JBJ Soul Kitchen) and the Co-Chairs are Marilyn and Robert Broege, Gale and Robert Grossman, and Mary Jane and Richard Kroon. The event will take place on the Rechnitz Stage at the Red Bank theater.

“Joan and Bob are an amazing couple and their commitment to the arts is inspiring,” say Dorothea and Jon Bon Jovi (JBJ Soul Kitchen). “We also cherish our partnership with Two River Theater and are happy to join in the celebration of such an important part of our community.”

The 25th Anniversary Gala will include cocktails, dinner by In Thyme, music by Docs of Rock, and dancing. A limited number of $350 individual tickets are available now. For tickets and information about sponsorships and underwriting opportunities, contact Katie Benson at 732.345.1400 ext. 1817 or kbenson@trtc.org. All proceeds of the event will benefit the programs and services of Two River Theater.

Joan and Robert Rechnitz are two of New Jersey’s most respected civic leaders. Since moving to Monmouth County more than 45 years ago, they have given generously in support of arts and culture, with a particular emphasis on arts education; environmental stewardship; health care and social services; and Jewish and humanitarian causes. Their philanthropic giving has been characterized by a commitment to improving people’s lives in meaningful ways and making the world a better place.

They established Two River Theater in 1994—a time when Monmouth County was the last major populated part of New Jersey without a professional regional theater. Today, Two River is at the forefront of the American theater, annually producing 8+ productions (including classics, world premieres, musicals, and theater for families) and 40+ events that reflect its diverse community of Red Bank.

Since its founding, Two River has premiered 16 original plays and musicals; commissioned original projects including Be More Chill by Joe Iconis and Joe Tracz (the theater’s first Broadway production) and Hurricane Diane by Playwright-in-Residence Madeleine George (now enjoying an extended Off-Broadway run); and developed numerous other plays and musicals. Each year, Two River serves thousands of students and community members through arts and humanities programs at the theater, in schools, and throughout its region. The theater’s three-story Center for New Work, Education and Design will open in August 2019. Two River Theater is under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst.

Two River Theater is located at 21 Bridge Avenue in Red Bank, New Jersey.
