The Performing Arts School at bergenPAC Announces Second Annual Englewood’s Got Talent(Englewood, NJ) -- The Performing Arts School at bergenPAC located at 1 Depot Square in Englewood, NJ announces the Second Annual Englewood’s Got Talent show. The show will be held on Friday April 24, 2015, at 7:30PM on the bergenPAC main stage.  For further info, go to www.EnglewoodsGotTalent.com, email jaronson@epsd.org, or call 201.294.0725. Tickets are $7/student and $10/adult and can be purchased at Dwight Morrow High School / Academies@Englewood Main Office 201-816-6110.

bergenPAC is proud to be a partner for this event, providing the venue, awards, and a host. Like many local Englewood and Englewood Public school events, Englewood’s Got Talent will take place on the bergenPAC stage. “bergenPAC is the hub for arts programming for the community. We play a vital role in inviting and producing Englewood related events for our residents,” said Dominic Roncace, bergenPAC CEO.

Mayor Frank Huttle III, the founder of the bergenPAC, has been a long standing proponent of partnering with the local community and providing great programs for the children of Englewood. “bergenPAC Performing Arts School has a long history of bringing the arts to local students, offering school arts programming to students in many school districts and scholarships to qualified students for its after-school programming,” said Huttle. The Performing Arts School at bergenPAC also recently instituted a new program called Limitless Arts, offering special needs programming in the arts to all ages and ability levels.

Englewood’s Got Talent is a talent competition where members of the Englewood and Englewood Cliffs community can showcase their talents at Englewood’s bergenPAC for a chance to win a grand prize. Proceeds from the event will benefit programs sponsored by the Parent Partnership Association (PPA) of Dwight Morrow High School / Academies@Englewood.  Students and parents from Dwight Morrow High School, bergenPAC, and the City of Englewood are working together on this year’s event, which is being organized by students from the Dr. John Grieco Scholarship Fund. It is being hosted by the Parent Partnership Association of Dwight Morrow High School / Academies@Englewood. Parents are hoping to purchase a marquee for the front of the school and also use the funds, in general, to promote better communication between the school and the community. See http://www.DMAEmarquee.com for info on that project.

New this year! A "Junior EGT" category for students 13 & under. Also added is a film category to this year's show, in which a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior will each be showcasing a short film.

Englewood’s Got Talent is the brainchild of DMAE history teacher, Judy Aronson. "The same students who organized Englewood Idol now have an opportunity to work with Alex Diaz and his staff at bergenPAC on Englewood's Got Talent. A number of performers who work with Roberta Mathes (Artistic Director of bergenPAC’s beyondDANCE) are participating in the show, and that is bringing our communities closer together as well. bergenPAC shares our mission of using the arts to create opportunities out of which young people can learn and grow. Students from the Dr. John Grieco Scholarship Fund are so grateful that professionals in the performing arts world are willing to lend their expertise and their beautiful facility to us. They are very excited about showcasing the talents of this town at bergenPAC," said Aronson.

Alexander Diaz, the Director of Education at the Performing Arts School at bergenPAC is excited to continue participation in the show. “It is such a joy to watch the kids grow in confidence and excel in their art. That is what the performing arts bring to our youth. At the end of the show, the performers feel like stars and it’s wonderful to be able to give them that gift.”
