The Hundred Acre Woods Are Coming To Asbury Lanes

originally published: 07/25/2014
(Philadelphia, PA)-- Philadelphia's resident rowdy folk band The Hundred Acre Woods are hitting Asbury Park with a show at Asbury Lanes on August 14th. The Hundred Acre Woods are meeting up with the W.C. Lindsay/Steady Hands tour for a few dates, starting in New Jersey. The show is a part of the band's "Where In The World Is Kooger San Diego" summer tour.

Formed in the latter half of 2009, Pennsylvania-based The Hundred Acre Woods aims to convey a message that is both young and old - a blending of the honesty and sincerity of traditional folk music with the raw energy and drive of punk rock. Drawing influence from both the fast-paced city life and their suburban roots, The Hundred Acre Woods break the traditional rules of both punk and folk, creating a new and refreshing sound characterized by driving banjo hooks and rich vocal harmonies. After spending the past few years growing their sound out of Philadelphia basements and releasing splits with the likes of screamo heroes Old Gray and scrappy punks Modern Baseball, the band has expanded their influence further into the indie and emo worlds, culminating in a duality most noticeable on their most recent self-produced 7”, Cold In The Morning.

Cold In The Morning highlights the best of The Hundred Acre Woods. Quick wit and complex rhythms decorate each track, bringing you from the slow build of "Whiskey Thieves" to the dancing pulses of "City Lights" to the cinematic melodies of closing track "Loose Parts" without skipping a heart beat. Finding a comfortable juxtaposition between sincere lyricism and raucous acoustic guitar, The Hundred Acre Woods combine deft song writing and stunning production techniques to create a three song EP as wild and likeable as the band’s members. The success of the band's Lame-O Record's debut has led to a quick growing fan base across the country. Taking a break from their time in the studio recording their first full length record, the band is heading out on their longest tour yet this summer!

Asbury Lanes is located at 209 4th Avenue in Asbury Park, NJ. For more information visit http://www.asburylanes.com
