(Englewood Cliffs, NJ) -- Selected for the third year in a row, The Elisabeth Morrow School Orchestra was honored to perform the national anthem for Run10, Feed 10, a 10 kilometer race in support of hunger relief. Sponsored by Unilever, Women's Health, the FEED Foundation and Crowdrise, Run 10, Feed 10 provides 10 meals for every 10 kilometers that runners complete.
Performing for the race has become somewhat of a tradition for EMS students, something that Orchestra Director Amelia Gold feels is reflective of the values of the students and the school. "We are thrilled to have a continued presence at Run 10 Feed 10. Providing music for the event allows students to giveback to the community in a meaningful way."
Head of School, Aaron Cooper, Middle School Head, Paul Baly, and Violin Faculty, Brittany Sklar, all participated in the race and fundraised for the cause, as they have in years past, with Cooper placing within the top 6 overall competitors. "I'm committed to this race," says Cooper. "It is an opportunity for the entire EMS community to show compassion and make an impact in the lives of the estimated 49 million people in the United States at risk of hunger."
