The Barn Theatre Of Montville Presents "A 21st Century Christmas Carol"

originally published: 11/29/2019

The Barn Theatre Of Montville Presents "A 21st Century Christmas Carol"(MONTVILLE, NJ) -- The Barn Theatre of Montville, New Jersey will be presenting "A 21st Century Christmas Carol", written by Lori M. Myers. Performances will be on December 7th at 11:00am and 2:00pm, and December 8th at 2:00pm. All tickets are $10 per person. This fun little holiday show is a special event specifically for families and children.

Here’s a modern twist on Dickens’s classic...  with a female lead!  Eleanor Scrooge, a greedy old spinster, spends her days barking orders at her gift shop employees.  Though the mall will be closed, she still wants them to work on Christmas Day!  Then she’s visited by the ghost of her old boss, Mr. Marley, and a parade of zany spirits who materialize from cheesy collectible figurines.  First there’s the Spirit of the Past, who loves the 1950s and takes Eleanor dancing at a bygone party.  Then there’s the Spirit of Present, who takes Eleanor to the Hatchett family Christmas dinner, where Eleanor feels like she’s watching a sitcom with a nice message of forgiveness.  Finally, the Spirit of Future, who takes Eleanor to her own funeral, completes her change of heart.

The cast of “A 21st Century” features Jacky Vogt, Christine Morgan, Terri Shetler, Caroline Ritacco, Santina DiBenedetto, Zoe Davies, Claudine Boucher, Kyle Schickner, Pearl Hart, Brady Shetler, Alexia Davies, Jenna Levitt, Luna Mills, Leala Mills, Anthony DiBenedetto, Jordan Vogt, Leslie Silverman, Marisa Rossi, Alli Hartley-Kong, Michael Daly, Karen Lerner, Charles Grayson, Caroline Leonard, Vivian Lerner, Nola Lerner, and Bob Vogt. The show is directed by Scott Baird.

The Barn Theatre is located on Skyline Drive in Montville, NJ, just minutes off Exit 47 from Route 287. For more reservations, information or directions, call The Barn Theatre Box Office at (973) 334-9320, or visit The Barn Theatre on the web at www.barntheatre.org
