Rock On! This Week's Sound Bites...3/11/21

By Danny Coleman

originally published: 03/11/2021

Shaw Davis & The Black Ties; if you haven't heard of this trio from Pompano Beach, Florida, don't worry you will.

A mixture of blues rock with psychedelic overtones akin to a high-speed chase complete with twists, turns and plenty of melt your face guitar licks, thunderous bass and pounding drums; these guys just flat out rock. Thus far in their short career their sound has drawn comparisons to Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix and Rage Against The Machine and they've already, "Performed alongside " classic rock luminaries such as Foghat,  The Guess Who, Georgia Satellites, Blue Oyster Cult and newbies like Samantha Fish.

From their self-titled debut album to 2018's "Tales From The West," this power threesome has played more than 300 recent dates, increased their ever-growing fan base and currently have enlisted the help of Grammy Award winning producer and Johnny Winter sidekick Paul Nelson to work his magic on their third studio album, "Red Sun Rebellion" which will release sometime in 2021 and will be available from "Sony Orchard. "

Fret not faithful denizens as they have decided to release a single on March 12 titled "Higher" to whet our collective whistles and the strategy seems to be working as excitement continues to build for its debut.

Shaw Davis & The Black Ties are no longer a diamond in the rough; they are the real deal and ready to shine.
