On January 25, Smith and Myers of Shinedown played the first of a two night only acoustic set to packed house at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville NJ. From beginning to end of the show Brent and Zach ran through stripped down versions of Shinedown favorites and some great covers.
The show opened strong with “Wanted Dead or Alive” by Bon Jovi and later included Zach on piano with a tribute to Prince and Tom Petty. The camaraderie between Zach and Brent was obvious throughout the show. The way the two tell stories and bounce jokes off each other between songs was comical. It was apparent how much fun these two were were having. It was amazing how these two friends played a 2 hour acoustic set to a packed house and kept the audience engaged, entertained, and singing along the entire night. I found myself singing while I was photographing because its impossible to see a Shinedown show let alone a Smith & Myers show and not sing the entire night.
They recently performed their hit song “Get Up” with their band Shinedown on Live with Kelly and Ryan and have been nominated for two iHeart Radio Music Awards for Rock Song of the Year for the track “Devil” plus they’re nominated for Rock Artist of the Year.
The band will be hitting the road beginning on February 20th headlining their ATTENTION ATTENTION Tour with Papa Roach and Asking Alexandria.
