(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- PNC Arts Alive! presents Stage Fighting and Choreography with Patrick Mathis on Monday, August 31. Learn the secrets to Stage Fighting and Choreography in this workshop at 11am. Cost of the workshop is $10 for ages ten and up, including adults. The event takes place at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse (405 Lafayette Street) in Cape May, NJ.
Patrick Mathis is a standing Member of the Society of American Fight Directors and holds certifications in many of its disciplines including; sword and shield, quarter staff, knife, and unarmed combat. He has taught the basics of stage combat to students of all ages at venues across the country. While the object of a real fight is to make contact, the purpose of stage combat is to create the illusion of combat while maintaining safety and control. There will be a performance of short routines for families to enjoy later in the day.
PNC Arts Alive continues to challenge visual and performing arts organizations to put forth their best, most original thinking in expanding audience participation and engagement. To date, the PNC Foundation has supported more than 160 programs and invested $7 million in the Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey region through PNC Arts Alive.
