New Jersey Blues Legend Billy Hector celebrates 30 years of performing at Stanhope House on November 6

(STANHOPE, NJ) -- A special evening of music brings two New Jersey state treasures together to celebrate their 30  year partnership on the NJ club circuit. Present Stanhope House owner Jon Klein says “Billy Hector has been the heart of rock and roll in the NJ club scene”. On November 6th at 9PM to commemorate the 30 year anniversary of Mr. Hector’s first performance at the infamous road house where Muddy Waters, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Pinetop Perkins and a host of other blues giants have funktified the stage before him, The Billy Hector Band will add a three piece horn section, The Midnite Horns to its usual power trio configuration.. The energy onstage will be high and mighty.

Billy Hector is a multiple award winning guitarist and songwriter who has been performing for 40 years. During his career Billy has worked with music legends such as Joe Louis Walker, Sonny Landreth and Hubert Sumlin.  The band recently performed at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. for the “Leadbelly at 125” concert along with Robert Plant, Allison Krauss and others.

The Midnite Horns featuring Stax recording artist Mel Taylor on saxophone,  Steve Jankowski (Blood, Sweat and Tears) on trumpet and Adam Machaskee on trombone will be in the house to augment Billy’s patented raucous sound and perform hits from his new CD, “OLD SCHOOL THANG” which has been charting in the top 5 of the RMR’s Blues/Rock charts since its release as well as other Friday night favorites.

Tee Watts of Blues Blast magazine says this about “Old School Thang”:

“Mr. Hector is most comfortable in a power trio configuration but when he throws in a badass horn section augmented also with the occasional b-3, the results are stupefying. …Hector's voice is strong, confident and convicted. It augments his playing in a similar way that Jimi Hendrix's vocals complimented his playing.”

Ghetto Surf Music recording artist Joshua Mark opens the show at 8:30PM with hits from his CD, “Breaking Ground”.

Come out and celebrate the milestone performance of one of New Jersey’s true musical treasures and show your appreciation for someone who has given us so much for so long.  It’s going to be a party.
