Luna Stage Presents 6th Annual New Moon Short Play Festival

(WEST ORANGE, NJ) -- Luna Stage presents its sixth annual New Moon Short Play Festival from May 21 to May 22.  The Festival provides two evenings of dramatic and comedic excellence via readings of 15 short plays by some of New Jersey's finest writers. These short plays and monologues were selected from over 60 submissions. And, for the first time, they will have a night focusing on plays written by high school students as well.  The high school night takes place on May 23rd.

Here is a look at the lineup of plays.

Monday, May 21st, 7:30pm - You've Come A Long Way Virginia by William N. Blake; ¡Dale! by Sergio Caetano; Barnes and Noble by Joseph M. Del Priore; Flopsy and Mopsy by Phoebe Farber; Parked Car by Bethany Greenman; Everlasting Chocolate Therapy by Steven Hayet;  and Objects Controlling Destiny by Della Lewis



Tuesday, May 22nd, 7:30pm - Reincarnation by Eric Alter; Stung by Laura Ekstrand; Chair by Manuel Igrejas; Death Defying by Stephen Kaplan; Charter Chatter by Beverly Moore; CPN Masseur by Brian Parks; Minnie and Estelle by Marv Siegel;  and Wing Man by Mary Jane Walsh.

Reservations are strongly recommended. No payment is needed to reserve your seats, but you must arrive at the theater and pick up your reservation 15 minutes prior to curtain (7:15pm) or your seats may be released. Please arrive early to allow ample time to park. There will be a $10 suggested donation at the door for the readings on May 21-22.

Wednesday, May 23 at 7:30pm - Luna's 1st ever Short Play Festival High School Night focuses an entire evening on plays written by high school students. Come check out what these young talents have to say! This event is free. 

The readings include: SPACE AND TIME by Lauren Cyrus, Middlesex County Vocational and Technical School; SHAKESPEARE'S MISTAKE by Jillian Russell, West Orange High School; THIS LIFE AIN'T EASY by Fabiola Conserve, Orange Preparatory Academy; HOUSE PARTY by Joel Smith, Orange Preparatory Academy; SLUSH by Olivia Ridley, West Orange High School; EGYPTIAN LOVERS by Justin Peters, West Orange High School;  and RHYME TIME by Kaiya Milan Clarke, West Orange High School.
