Grammy Museum Experience To Launch New Series With An Evening With Lenny Kravitz

(NEWARK, NJ) -- The GRAMMY Museum Experience™ Prudential Center, in association with the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), will launch a new program series this fall, beginning with “An Evening With Lenny Kravitz,”a four-time GRAMMY® winner, on September 18 in NJPAC’s Victoria Theater. The program will feature a conversation between the iconic rock musician and special guest moderator, five-time GRAMMY winner Questlove about the creation and inspiration behind Kravitz’s new release, Raise Vibration.

The series will continue with “An Evening With Wyclef Jean,” a three-time GRAMMY winner and founding member of the New Jersey-based Fugees Oct.16, 2018.  The acclaimed musician, producer, and songwriter will discuss his illustrious career and current projects with the Los Angeles GRAMMY Museum’s Founding Executive Director, Bob Santelli, which will be followed by a special performance.

“The GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles is proud to make Newark the east coast home of its acclaimed public program,” said Bob Santelli, who will host the series.  “Metropolitan area music fans will learn through onstage conversations how great music is made and often hear rare informal performances in a unique and intimate setting.”

“The ability to join two innovative and community committed leaders in entertainment- Prudential Center, a top-5 most played venue in the United States, and NJPAC, a world-class arts institution, is very exciting,” said Hugh Weber, President of Harris Blitzer Sports and Entertainment, which includes in its portfolio the New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center. “We are honored to share the GRAMMY Museum Experience with the local community and utilize the space to create inspiring educational programs to aspiring youth in our area.”

"We are pleased to be collaborating with the GRAMMY Museum Experience™ Prudential Center on innovative programming featuring groundbreaking artists in our intimate Victoria Theater,” said NJPAC President and CEO, John Schreiber.  “Most importantly, we are pleased the special programs will be taped to use as educational tools in the future for students from Newark and beyond."

“An Evening With…” is the Los Angeles GRAMMY Museum’s flagship public program series. Since opening its doors in 2008, the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles has produced over 800 of these special events, breaking down the barrier between artists and the audience. Over the years, artists like Barbara Streisand, James Taylor, John Legend, Stevie Nicks, Sting, Mavis Staples, Ed Sheeran, and Dave Matthews have participated. Each program includes a conversation about the artist’s career, the creative process, songwriting, upcoming projects, and more, allowing attendees to hear never-before-heard stories straight from the artists themselves.  The evening often concludes with an informal performance.

New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) is located at One Center Street in Newark, New Jersey. For tickets visit www.njpac.org or call 888-GO-NJPAC. Click here for more information.
