Elisabeth Morrow School Orchestra Performing A Prelude Concert Opening For Itzhak Perlman

(Englewood, NJ) -- Bergen Performing Arts Center located at 30 North Van Brunt Street in Englewood, New Jersey presents The Elisabeth Morrow School Orchestra performing a prelude concert opening for Itzhak Perlman (part of the Wilmington Trust Cultural Arts Series), Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 7PM. Tickets are available at www.ticketmaster.com or Box Office at 201.227.1030.

bergenPAC, a non-profit 501(c)3, will provide a pizza party for the students before the event, followed by the performance, after which the students will have the chance to meet Itzhak Perlman. “We are excited to partner with The Elisabeth Morrow School to give performing experience to these talented individuals. It is part of our mission to give young musicians this kind of learning opportunity and we are pleased to provide the platform for them to showcase their talents,” said Gerrilyn Guerrero, Education Outreach Manager at bergenPAC.

There will be between 40 and 90 students, ages 6 through 14, performing. The students have opened for Joshua Bell 2 times at bergenPAC, Andre Watts with the NJ Symphony and Midori. They have been featured on NBC Today Show, CBS, ABC, HBO, NY 1 and NJ 10 and NJ 12. They have performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, and Alice Tully Hall.

The Elisabeth Morrow School Orchestra students "are a model of Arts education in the U.S. and have received numerous awards and distinctions as an example of the power of Arts education for children. Needless to say, I am extremely proud," said Amelia Gold, Arts Department Chair at Elisabeth Morrow School and member of the Board of Trustees at bergenPAC.

All students have superior musical training beginning at age 3 and even the beginners are accomplished musicians. Some of the students have studied upwards of 10 years. All string students who have learned canon were invited to perform it as a large group and the Superchamber group is an established group in our Orchestra program.
