De Novo Theatre Company Presents "Disenchanted"

originally published: 10/15/2019

(BURLINGTON, NJ) -- Happily ever after?  Well . . . not exactly. Grimm's princesses will be setting the record straight in the delightfully funny and sassy musical, Disenchanted, the second production of the De Novo Theatre Company along with the Lyceum Hall Center for the Arts in Burlington City, NJ, on November 22 and 23.

Like the Latin term, "de novo," the De Novo Theatre Company aims to bring new life to forgotten or little-known plays and musicals through concerts and productions with limited staging using local talent.  With a spotlight on these “hidden gems” the De Novo Theatre Company welcomes audiences to open their minds and be educated and entertained by these obscure shows.

Featuring long-time favorites Snow White, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty, as well as the much-loved Belle, Rapunzel, The Little Mermaid, Pocahontas, Hua Mulan, Princess Badroulbadour (Jasmine), and The Princess who Kissed the Frog, the 2012 off-Broadway smash, Disenchanted, shares the not-for-children "true stories" of these princesses' post-happily-ever-after lives.

Directed by De Novo's Artistic Director, John D. DiFerdinando, and musically-directed by Adam Chen, this hilarious and insightful musical written by Dennis T. Giacino, features an amazingly-talented cast of actresses from the Delaware Valley – Rachel DeMasi, Patricia Curley, Barbara Burke Sherman, Ilana Lo, Hillary Wilson, and Taylor J. Mitchell.

The show runs for three performances only - Friday, November 22, at 7:30 pm, and Saturday, November 23, at 3 pm and 7:30 pm., at the Lyceum Hall Center for the Arts, which is located at 432 High Street, Burlington City, NJ 08016.
