(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- Charlie Zaa performs at Bergen Performing Arts Center (BergenPAC) in Englewood on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 8:00pm. Zaa is a Colombian singer who has achieved worldwide recognition for his romantic bolero styling. Tickets range from $39 to $99.
Zaa has sold more than seven million albums throughout his musical journey and is one of only six artists in music history to sell one million copies of a Spanish language album. His 2000 album, Ciego de Amor, was produced by Emilio Estefan Jr. and included the #1 hit, “Dónde Está El Amor” and signature song, “La Pollera Colorá.” Following a self-imposed absence from music, Zaa returned to the top of the Billboard charts 15 years after his debut with the concept album, De Bohemia, which included songs made famous by Cuban singer, Orlando Contreras.
Zaa then went to revisit his musical roots in salsa with a tribute album to Grupo Niche, En Otro Tiempo and collaborated with Sergio George on his Latin GRAMMY® award winning album, Salsa Giants. He then teamed up with Sergio to record, Mi Mejor Regalo, a tribute to the late Joan Sebastian. The album spawned the #1 hit, “Un Idiota” and was nominated for a 2016 Latin American Music Award.
