In "Lucky Penny", Deblinger weaves a brilliant, witty, and heartfelt reflection upon father-son relationships, answering the question, “What would you say to your father, given the chance?” Immediately appealing and twinkling with effervescence and humor, Deblinger grapples with grief and rage as he stitches autobiographical stories of undying love for his father. Video footage of confessional community-center participants, edited by Tomoko Miyagi, captured in moments of profound vulnerability, complete this multimedia experience. While a very personal journey, Deblinger's piece embraces the audience through a conversational performance that is humorous, honest, heartfelt and highly entertaining.
