Big Pink: Music From The Band

originally published: 02/26/2015

Big Pink: Music From The Band (ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Last November Glen Burtnik and Sal Boyd put together a show reenacting the legendary 1976 farewell performance of The Band. Beginning with enlisting Bob Burger and Arne Wendt, Burtnik and Boyd created the core band, adding performances by Kate Taylor, Anthony D'Amato, Southside Johnny, Bobby Banderia, Pat Guadagno, Emily Grove and so many more. They had the stage at the Pollack theatre packed with both local and national talent and bought the sold out house to their feet again and again.

The core of that highly successful One Last Waltz theatre show - Glen Burtnik, Bob Burger, Sal Boyd and Arne Wendt -- will continue celebrating the music and legacy of The Band on Saturday, March 7 at The Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, NJ.  Admission is $12 and doors are at 7pm.

The Band's style of writing and music has influenced so many artists, bands and songwriters, from the Grateful Dead and The Beatles to Elvis Costello and Pink Floyd to our own local artists, throughout the years and continue to do so. With dates already set to return to the Pollak in November, as well as taking the theatre show on the road, Burtnik, Burger, Boyd, and Wendt, performing as Big Pink, are set to perform the music of The Band through out the year. Playing The Bands' biggest hits to their own favorites, bringing their enthusiasm and appreciation for the music of The Band to each show.

The Wonder Bar is located at Fifth & Ocean Avenues in Asbury Park, NJ.  For more information visit: www.wonderbarasburypark.com
