(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- As winter winds down and our collective wishes for live music crank up, the Asbury Park Music Foundation presents a new virtual music series, Sunday Sounds, which will feature video performances from three popular APMF series: Sunday Sessions, Music Mondays in Springwood Park, and Sundays on St. John’s. The free streams will be available on YouTube and Facebook on Sundays at 3:00pm during the months of March, April, and May.
Each series was originally presented to the community thanks to a group of sponsors that believes in the value that live music brings to Asbury Park while also providing funding for APMF’s youth music education programs.
The new series kicks off on March 7 at 3:00pm with these Sunday Sessions shows:
3/7 Anthony Krizan w/Bobby Bandiera & Friends
3/14 JT Bowen and Arlan Feiles w/Eddie Testa
3/21 Jeffrey Gaines w/Bobby Bandiera
3/28 Vini Lopez w/Jarod Clemons and Lisa Lowell w/Bobby Bandiera & Friends
In April, Music Mondays in Springwood Park shows will offer a mix of soul, funk, R&B, and jazz:
4/4 Layonne Holmes and The Motor City Revue w/ 10 O'Clock Jazz Trio
4/11 Funktion
4/18 Al Covington with Brass Illusion & Nu'Eara w/Lara Grant
4/25 Sensational Soul Cruisers
May shows are from last fall’s Sundays on St. Johns series:
5/2 Steve Forbert
5/9 Pat Guadagno
5/16 Sandy Mack & Friends
5/23 Glen Burtnik & Friends
Sunday Sounds is part of the Asbury Park Music Foundation’s commitment to unite our community, support local musicians, and inspire youth through live music. Additional information and Music Saved Asbury Park merchandise is available on the APMF website and details will be posted on the organization’s social media pages @asburyparkmusicfoundation on Facebook and Instagram.
APMF provides music-based programs, events, and resources that generate opportunities for our youth, artists, and community to succeed and build on Asbury Park’s legacy as a thriving, music-rich city by the sea. Funds raised by APMF support youth music programs, including in-school music classes, after-school music programs and scholarships for under-resourced youth to attend Lakehouse Music Academy. Sunday Sounds is being streamed for free, but for those who wish to make a donation, links will be provided on the series’ pages.
