(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- The Clio Project, the division of Cape May, New Jersey’s Center for Community Arts dedicated to creating and presenting original work for stage and screen is teaming up with the performance troupe Actors Off Stage to present A Sherlock and Shakespeare Festival at The Elementary Theatre in Cape May. The summer-long festival features two original plays, Sherlock Holmes and the Avenging Angels by Ray Crew and I Hate Monologues by Mark Knight.
Sherlock Holmes and the Avenging Angels is a psychological mystery based on real history that thrusts Holmes and Watson into the middle of an international revenge conspiracy that began with the Lincoln assassination and will ultimately force both men to face their darkest fears. Performances are on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:00pm from June 21 to August 30 and on Saturdays at 8:00pm from September 1st to September 29th.
I Hate Monologues is a naughty British farce that features a fading Shakespearean actor hysterically matching wits with an ingénue and a director in over her head as they tackle Richard the III. Performances are on Mondays and Wednesdays at 8:00pm from June 20th to August 29th. Sunday matinees run from September 2nd to September 30th.
