Christopher Jackson: Live from the West Side

“It must be nice… It must be nice… to have Washington on your side.” Millions of people have had that ear worm ringing through their households during the pandemic thanks to the Disney+ film of “Hamilton.” For 17 performing arts centers, including Millburn’s Paper Mill Playhouse, the man who portrayed George Washington in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s revolutionary show will be on their side with “Christopher Jackson: Live from the West Side” - a livestream concert taking place on Saturday, August 15 at 8:00 p.m.


Black Box PAC Announces Dates For Shakespeare in the Park Bergen County 2020

(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- In February, The Black Box PAC Shakespeare in the Park Bergen County team was preparing the lineup for 2020, their third season of free outdoor performances, before the pandemic hit. In the wake of COVID-19, the uniquely collaborative group of theater makers have revamped their annual summer festival. All involved have been closely monitoring the situation and given current guidelines BBPAC has been given the go-ahead to move forward with their third season - although it may look a bit different!

Makin Waves Song of the Week: "Bye Bye Love" by Jaded Past

Central Jersey rockers Jaded Past's continue a stream of singles with the release of their cover of The Cars’ 1978 classic, “Bye Bye Love,” the Makin Waves Song of the Week. The single is the band's fifth in a little more than a year following 2016's sophomore LP, "Believe," on Melodic Rock Records and a 2012 self-titled, self-released full-length debut.

Asbury Park trio Ragged Lines have returned with their best work yet: a 10-song debut full-length, “Hills & Valleys,” produced by the great Erik Case Romero.


The Strand Presents Alive! '75 In A Facebook Live Concert On September 12

(LAKEWOOD, NJ) -- The Strand Center for the Arts presents Alive! '75 - the ultimate Kiss tribute band, in a Facebook Live concert on Saturday, September 12 at 8:00pm.  The band will be celebrating the 45th anniversary of the Kiss Alive! album with their only performance of the album this year.


Levitt AMP Virtual Music Series Presents Trenton's Sarah Dash on August 16

(TRENTON, NJ) -- Funk, soul and disco legend Sarah Dash will be celebrating her 75th birthday, live from the digital stage of the Levitt AMP Virtual Music Series, along with a lineup of other all-star performers and a nationwide audience.  The event, presented by the Trenton Downtown Association (TDA), will be take place on Sunday, August 16th at 8:00pm.


Morris Museum Presents JACK On Thursday, August 20th

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- The Morris Museum is presenting the Lot of Strings Music Festival featuring four acclaimed string quartets. Up next will be JACK on Thursday, August 20 at 7:30pm. The acclaimed string quartet has an unwavering commitment to performing new works and giving voice to underheard composers. Their lively program will include the work of John Zorn, Marcos Balter, John Luther Adams, Zosha di Castri and Johann Sebastian Bach. The performance takes place atop the museum's elevated parking lot overlooking the hills of Morris County. The NY Times calls JACK "Our Leading New Music Foursome."


Hamburg celebrates 60 years of the Beatles With Livestream Show On August 17

(HAMBURG, GERMANY) -- On Monday, August 17, 2020, the music city of Hamburg will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Stuart Sutcliffe and Pete Best appearing live on stage as “The Beatles”. Due to the Covid-19 situation, the event will be solely available online – streamed directly from the Indra Club, the original venue in St Pauli.

Princeton Ballet School presents ballet star Gillian Murphy as part of its Virtual Master Class on August 14

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Princeton Ballet School welcomes Gillian Murphy, one of the biggest and brightest stars in professional ballet, on Friday, August 14th starting at 9:30am, as part of a Virtual Master Class series. Newark Poetry Council To Hold Town Hall Meeting On Sunday, August 16

(NEWARK, NJ) -- On Sunday, August 16th at 4:00pm, the Newark Poetry Council presents its first ever Town Hall at the Heart Ballroom in Newark, NJ.  Attendees will get to learn more about the council and its members, as well as how to get involved with them. They will also begin discussions on how the organization can serve the city of Newark and its poets.

Northern NJ Community Foundation's Frank DeLorenzo Memorial Scholarship Fund Awards Scholarship To Mikoto Ozawa

(HACKENSACK, NJ) -- The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation's (NNJCF) The Frank DeLorenzo Memorial Scholarship Fund has announced Mikoto Ozawa, a graduate of the 2020 class at Leonia High School, of Leonia, New Jersey received its second annual scholarship award.  Ozawa plans to study visual arts at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in New Brunswick.  The $2,000 scholarship award is given to a student, who demonstrates talent and ambition as an artist, musician, or writer and seeks to further his or her education.
