The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's Season Opener, Tartuffe, Extends Run

(MADISON, NJ) -- The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey’s 2018 season opening production, Tartuffe, will extend its run after much critical and audience acclaim. The French masterpiece directed by Artistic Director Bonnie J. Monte began performances on May 16 and will now play until Sunday, June 10, ending with a 2:00pm matinee performance. 


A Sherlock and Shakespeare Festival To Take Place This Summer In Cape May

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- The Clio Project, the division of Cape May, New Jersey’s Center for Community Arts dedicated to creating and presenting original work for stage and screen is teaming up with the performance troupe Actors Off Stage to present A Sherlock and Shakespeare Festival at The Elementary Theatre in Cape May. The summer-long festival features two original plays, Sherlock Holmes and the Avenging Angels by Ray Crew and I Hate Monologues by Mark Knight.


Pierrot Productions Presents "Disaster! A Musical" at Kelsey Theatre

(WEST WINDSOR, NJ) --  From earthquakes to tidal waves to infernos, disaster movies were the film genre of the 1970s that just would not go away. Prepare to laugh as Pierrot Productions presents “Disaster! A Musical” at Mercer County Community College’s (MCCC’s) Kelsey Theatre weekens from June 8 to June 17. Audiences can relive – or discover for the first time – an era at the movies that brought disaster at every turn.


Axelrod Performing Arts Center Casts "Abled" Actor In NEWSIES Role

(OCEAN TOWNSHIP) -- Perhaps for the very first time, an “abled” actor will take on the role of Crutchie in Disney’s NEWSIES musical, as the Axelrod Performing Arts Center in NJ breaks boundaries with its casting.  Axelrod's production of NEWSIES will run June 1 through June 17.


No Dominion Theatre Co. Spins Yarns at Merseles Studios in Jersey City

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- A weekend of back-to-back evenings of cutting-edge theatre takes place at Merseles Studios in Jersey City when Jersey City Theater Center (JCTC) presents Yarns, the latest production by No Dominion Theatre Co. from June 7-9.  Yarns dares audiences to re-think the “women’s work” concept by drawing parallels between sex workers and fiber artists. The setting is a brothel where the women survive by turning tricks and creating warmth from the yarn that surrounds them, all under the watchful eye of a suspicious man who calls himself their protector. 


Rob Morrow, Robert Wuhl and Talia Balsam & More Set For Benefit Play Reading at George Street Playhouse

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) --  George Street Playhouse has announced that three-time Golden Globe nominee and two-time Emmy Award nominee Rob Morrow (TV’s Northern Exposure, Billions), two-time Emmy winner Robert Wuhl (Bull Durham, TV’s Arli$$), and Talia Balsam (TV’s Mad Men, Homeland) will star in a special benefit play reading of Eugene Pack’s hysterical new comedy Night with Oscar on Friday, June 8 at 8:00pm.

The Decemberists To Perform At Count Basie Center For The Arts

(RED BANK, NJ) -- The Decemberists come to the Count Basie Center for The Arts in Red Bank on Tuesday, June 12 at 8:00pm.  The band is touring in support of their eighth studio album, I'll Be Your Girl, which was released in March on Capitol Records.  Opening the night is special guest M. Ward.  Tickets range from $36 to $90.


Terry Reid & Cosmic American Derelicts To Perform At Lizzie Rose Music Room

(TUCKERTON, NJ) — The Lizzie Rose Music Room presents Terry Reid & Cosmic American Derelicts on Saturday, June 16 at 7:30pm.  Terry Reid, Superlungs as he’s affectionately known, is without doubt one of the greatest rock/soul voices England has ever produced or is indeed likely to. A Terry Reid concert should be a cherished memory for any self-respecting fan of the greats of British music.  Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 day of show. 


NJPAC Adds Second Performance Of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire LIVE in Concert

(NEWARK, NJ) -- New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) has added a second performance of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Live in Concert. Don’t miss the fourth installment of Harry Potter in Concert when NJPAC hosts the full-length film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, projected in high-definition on a giant screen, with Oscar-nominated composer Patrick Doyle’s masterful score performed live by the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, October 27 at 2:00pm & 7:30pm. 


Lettuce, The English Beat, and the Original Wailers Added To Sea.Hear.Now Lineup

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Lettuce, The English Beat and The Original Wailers have been added to the inaugural Sea.Hear.Now festival lineup and will join Jack Johnson, Incubus, Social Distortion, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Brandi Carlile, Milky Chance, Blondie, Kaleo, The Front Bottoms, Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls, and more. Sea.Hear.Now will bring fans over 25 bands on 3 stages at North Beach Asbury Park and Bradley Park, September 29-30, along with unique art and surf culture experiences.

The New Jersey Premiere of "Vianey"

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The New Jersey International Film Festival presents the New Jersey premiere of “Vianey” on Saturday, June 2nd at 7:00pm.  This is an intensely personal documentary portrait about the life and hardships of the New Jersey and Bronx based underground hip hop artist Vianey Otero, also known by the stage name So Icey Trap.  The screening will be followed by a Q+A Session by the film's director, Marko Vuorinen, and Vianey Otero.
