Michael Tucker's "Assisted Living" added to NJ Rep's Season

(LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- New Jersey Repertory Company will round out its 2018 Season with the mature comedy, Assisted Living, by Michael Tucker (The M Spot).  The production will run from August 9 – September 9, 2018. In this World Premiere play, three couples in their golden years, are gathered at Sunny and Jer’s farmhouse to celebrate milestone birthdays that span three decades.


Art House Productions To Present "Grace, or The Art of Climbing" by L M Feldman

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Art House Productions (Meredith Burns, Executive Director) will present the spring mainstage theater production of Grace, or The Art of Climbing by L M Feldman from March 15th - April 1st. Making its east coast premiere, Grace will be directed by Adin Walker. The play follows the journey of Emm, who faced with a painful chapter in her life and fighting the inertia of depression, decides to enter the world of competitive rock-climbing. Her quest through the rugged and humorous terrain of physical training and personal relationships charts the journey of a young woman suspended between muscularity and vulnerability, falling and climbing, parents and children, and the ardor and grace of being human.


Centenary Stage Company To Hold Auditions For "Hair"

(HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- The Centenary Stage Company, a professional not for profit theater in residency on the Campus of Centenary University, will be holding, non-equity open auditions for the 2018 summer stock production ofHAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock musical.  Featuring a book and lyrics by James Rado and Gerome Ragni and music by Galt MacDermott. Set in the East Village, Hair tells the story of a group of hippies who celebrate peace, love, and the freedom of choice, during the shadow of the Vietnam War.

The Smashing Pumpkins To Hit NY and PA

GRAMMY® Award-winning, acclaimed alternative rock pioneers The Smashing Pumpkins have announced their first tour in nearly 20 years to feature founding members Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, and James Iha. The 36-city Shiny And Oh So Bright Tour will kick off in Glendale, AZ on July 12, 2018 and visit North American arenas throughout the summer. Locally, the band will have stops at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on July 28th and Madison Square Garden in New York City on August 1st.


NJSO adds 7 new members to Board of Trustees

(NEWARK, NJ) -- The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra welcomes seven new members and three returning members to its Board of Trustees. Charged with establishing policies that assist in the successful implementation of the NJSO’s mission and vision, the board comprises members who are among the most in-demand institutional leaders across the state. Individual members are among the Garden State’s most significant philanthropists, and corporate members hold key leadership positions in industries such as banking, medical, communications, technology and utilities.


Bickford Theatre Hosts Dan Levinson’s Jazz 101: The Trailblazers of America’s Original Art Form

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Dan Levinson and his all-star band celebrate the music of those early days of jazz at the Bickford Theatre for one night only on Monday, February 26th at 7:30pm.  Entitled Dan Levinson’s Jazz 101: The Trailblazers of America’s Original Art Form, the concert features the music of King Oliver, Louis Armstrong, the Original Dixieland Jazz Band, Jelly Roll Morton, The New Orleans Rhythm Kings, Clarence Williams, Eddie Condon, Duke Ellington and more.
