4th Wall Theatre Presents "Songs For A New World" In March(BLOOMFIELD, NJ) -- 4TH WALL THEATRE continues its 19th season with the musical Songs for a New World.  The musical was written by TONY nominated, Jason Robert Brown, who also penned, The Last Five YearsParade13, and The Bridges of Madison County. The production has limited run from March 11, 13 at 8:00pm and Sunday, March 13 at 3:00pm.

4th Wall’s production features Julie Galorenzo of Verona, Marisa Cucuzza of Bloomfield, Jenna Rose Ravenda of Lodi, Cory Herbert of Boonton, Ilyssa DePonte of Clifton, Andre Jamal Williams of Franklin Park and Joshua Powell and Angela Rose Masi of New York City. Equity Guest Artist, Dan Vissers of Sparta, rounds out the cast.

Songs for a New World, is a contemporary song cycle/musical revue which weaves characters and history together, illuminating the timelessness of self-discovery.  Writer Jason Robert Brown, transports the audience from the deck of a 1492 Spanish sailing ship to a ledge 57 stories above Fifth Avenue to meet a startling array of characters ranging from a young man who has determined that basketball is his ticket out of the ghetto to a woman whose dream of marrying rich nabs her the man of her dreams and a soulless marriage.

4th Wall Artistic Director, Kate Swan of Teaneck, directs and is joined by Markus Grae-Hauck of West Orange as Musical Director.  The two have teamed on numerous 4th Wall productions. Gwen Ricks-Spencer, formerly of Montclair, is the Production Manager, and Martha Thalheimer of Paterson serves as the Stage Manager.

While Songs for a New World is not a typical “book” musical, it is full of stories and most importantly lessons for the audience. Of the show, Swan says “It's all about life's moments - moments of change, realization, challenge, struggle, revelation, determination, and sorrow. The cast has been working to present each of those moments simply, genuinely, and wholly. My focus is on making it clear that if we can be patient enough to see the reasons for the things that are happening, we can get through them all together.”

Songs for a New World will play at the Westminster Center for the Arts on the campus of Bloomfield College in Bloomfield and has a limited run from March 11, 13 at 8:00 pm and Sunday, March 13 at 3:00 pm.  Tickets are only $25, and discount tickets are available for students and seniors.  Tickets may be reserved by calling 973-566-9255.
