originally published: 10/28/2014 (Bloomfield, NJ) -- 4th Wall Theatre is holding open auditions for singers for its upcoming NEW JERSEY MUSICAL THEATRE COMPOSERS SHOWCASE. Each composer will be casting several singers to present his/her material to 4th Wall's audience. The performance will take place at Westminster Arts Center in Bloomfield, NJ, on Monday, December 15th at 7:30pm.

Colby Dezelick and Mark De La Rosa

ABOUT THE SHOWCASE MATERIAL - The showcase will feature stand-alone songs as well as sections of new musicals by the composers. There are solos and group numbers, power ballads and quiet thoughts, dramatic and comedic songs, you name it. Each composer will music direct their own material and provide their own set of musicians. The intended audience is a mix of theatregoers and industry guests (agents, publishers, reviewers, etc.).

AUDITIONS - Auditions are scheduled on two separate Mondays at two separate locations:
* Monday, November 10, at 7:00 pm, - Westminster Arts Center, 449 Franklin St, Bloomfield
* Monday, November 17 at 7:00 - Montclair Operetta Club, 494 Valley Road, Montclair 


Sign up each night starts at 6:30 pm and you must sign-in by 8:00 pm. Different composers will attend each session. If a composer wants to explore your voice further, he or she will do an on-the-spot “callback.” If the director would like you to sing for a composer who is not there on the evening you attend, arrangements will be made for a separate callback date or, with the singer's permission, a video audition will be created for sharing only with the composer in question.

Actors should prepare two songs that show off their voices (see style list above). Bring sheet music in your key. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring conflicts for the rehearsal period (Nov 18-Dec 14) and headshot and resume (stapled together) to the auditions.

REHEARSALS - Rehearsals will begin as soon as possible after the auditions are finalized and will take place in northern NJ and New York City. Because each composer will be working only with his or her own singers, scheduling will be based on availability. There will be one REQUIRED tech rehearsal at Westminster Arts Center on Monday, December 8th, beginning as early as possible after 4pm. Questions contact: info@4thwalltheatre.org
