3RD ANNUAL HUB CITY MUSIC FESTIVAL RUNS APRIL 9, 2015 TO APRIL 19TH(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The Third Annual Hub City Music Festival takes place from Thursday, April 9th to Sunday, April 19th at various venues throughout New Brunswick, Highland Park and Somerset. The festival, presented in partnership by the New Brunswick Cultural Center and Iguana Music, showcases the talent in the local music scene while also helping our neighbors in need through our support of Elijah’s Promise.

This year’s acts include: The Roadside Graves, The Band Called Fuse, Black Wine, Arne Wendt, Classical Revolution, The Ralph Bowen Group, Billy, Wreaths, John Robinson and PVD, The CTP Band, Big Wake, Coach n Commando, Chris Harford, Cold Weather Company and many more. Our host venues for the festival include: The Court Tavern, Better World Market in Somerset, The Old Bay, Crossroads Theatre, Brother Jimmy’s, Tumulty’s pub, World of Beer and Elijah’s Promise Soup Kitchen and more.

The festival has a number of volunteer staff and event coordinators to help make it possible. In addition, the festival has partnered with the New Brunswick Jazz Project and coLAB Arts to bring a few additional events and genres including jazz, classical and musicals. The New Brunswick Jazz Project stated that "the organization is very happy to be a festival partner and support the wonderful causes of promoting live music and increasing food security for our neighbors in need."  

Elijah’s Promise is a local nonprofit organization that harnessing the power of food to break the cycle of poverty, alleviate hunger and change lives. Festival proceeds benefit the programs at Elijah’s Promise working to create a community where no one goes hungry for lack of food or funds; where a good meal is a nutritious meal; where the community learns to steward natural and financial resources wisely; and where they make opportunity available to those who seek it.

The suggested donation varies by event ($5-$10) and benefits Elijah’s Promise. All are welcome, whatever they are able to give.  For a complete schedule, please visit www.newbrunswickarts.org or www.hubcitymusicfestival.com.

New Brunswick Cultural Center is a not for profit 501(C) whose mission is to stimulate the cultural development and economic growth of arts and entertainment in New Brunswick through the enhancement, preservation, maintenance and effective administration of existing and future venues that service the primary constituent base of the New Brunswick Cultural Center and by nurturing viable arts, educational and entertainment organizations that reach the diverse communities of New Brunswick and the region.

Iguana Music was founded by Michael Steinbruck and is celebrating over 20 years of community building through music. The purpose of Iguana Music is to strengthen communities by bringing people together through great live music events. They coordinate events without charge in the New Jersey area and feature a wide variety of musicians, music and instrumentation. Most Iguana Music events have an additional fundraising emphasis for non-profit charitable organizations, but all events serve to bring community members together in an open and inclusive way. Poverty and food justice are of particular concern to Iguana Music.
