2015 Grammy Award-Winner Jerry Douglas Presents the Earls of Leicester

originally published: 02/26/2015

2015 Grammy Award-Winner Jerry Douglas Presents the Earls of Leicester(SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) --  2015 Grammy Award-Winner Jerry Douglas Presents the Earls of Leicester at the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) on Thursday, March 5 at 7:30PM.  Tickets range from $30-$40 and may be purchased online.

Led by fourteen-time Grammy Award-winner and three-time Country Music 'Musician of the Year' Jerry Douglas, The Earls of Leicester features some of Nashville's most talented musicians, including hit songwriter Shawn Camp on guitar and lead vocals, bassist Barry Bales (Douglas's cohort in Alison Krauss & Union Station), fiddler Johnny Warren (son of Paul Warren, legendary fiddle player in Flatt & Scruggs' Foggy Mountain Boys), mandolinist Frank Solivan, and acclaimed banjo player Charlie Cushman.

The Earls of Leicester is a tribute to the music of legendary bluegrass pioneers Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs and their band, Foggy Mountain Boys, whose seminal work in the '50s and '60s created the template for what we know as contemporary bluegrass, and popularized the music with an unprecedented mass audience. The "original" Earls were Lester Flatt, Earl Scruggs, dobro player Josh Graves, fiddler Paul Warren, tenor singer and mandolinist Curly Seckler, and bassist Jake Tullock.

Opening Act: Mike + Ruthy (acoustic duo).

SOPAC is located at One SOPACE Way in South Orange, NJ.  For more information visit www.sopacnow.org
