Light Opera of New Jersey Presents "La Bohème" Set In Modern Day NYC

Light Opera of New Jersey will present Puccini's masterpiece La Bohème with performances at Fellowship Village Cultural Arts Center (February 11, 13, 18, and 20) and the South Orange Performing Arts Center on March 27. Andrea DelGiudice will direct a modern-day adaptation set in New York City and utilizes projected images.  Noted conductor, Jason C. Tramm will lead the Light Opera of New Jersey Chamber Orchestra.

The principal cast will feature; Molly Dunn, Mimì (Weiner Kammeropera), Jeremy Brauner, Rodolfo (Cedar Rapids Opera), Gina Hanzlik, Musetta (Michigan Opera Theater), Jason Detwiler, Marcello (San Diego Opera) Suchan Kim, Schaunard (New York City Opera) and Gennady Vysotsky, Colline (Regina Opera). 

“I am delighted to collaborate with these talented professional artists as we bring Puccini’s great masterpiece to life in a fresh modern adaptation by our talented director, Andrea DelGiudice," said LONJ Executive Director, Jason Tramm.  "We are thrilled to take the stage for our first production since the pandemic and can’t wait to bring professional opera/operetta and Musical Theater to audiences in Basking Ridge and beyond! ”   

The Fellowship Village Cultural Arts Center is located at 8000 Fellowship Road in Basking Ridge. South Orange Performing Arts Center is located at 1 SOPAC Way inSouth Orange.  *All guests must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination at the door and wear masks.

Light Opera of New Jersey is a premier operetta, opera, and musical theater company founded in 1995 by William Corson and Lauran Corson.  Its mission is to present treasures of musical theater and light opera with professional caliber performers, musicians and production teams.  They educate their performers by casting local talent of all ages alongside seasoned professionals; they educate their communities by bringing their shows to audiences who otherwise might not experience these art forms.  Through their work, they strive to keep this superb genre alive for future generations.
