Passage Theatre Company Names Caroline Wylie As Board President

(TRENTON, NJ) -- Passage Theatre has announced a change in its Board leadership. Caroline Wylie was recently voted by Passage’s Board of Trustee as its next Board President. She assumes this position after serving as vice president alongside former Board President Judith Wooldridge.

Caroline Wylie moved to New Jersey from Northern Ireland in the late nineties to work on a teacher certification project at the Educational Testing Service (ETS). The two-year project would eventually lead to a permanent move to the U.S. and a career at ETS. As research director, her work now centers on K-12 assessment systems, with a focus on the use of formative assessment and teacher professional learning to improve classroom teaching and learning. Her first visit to the Mill Hill Playhouse was in 1999 for a series of Irish plays that a colleague noticed advertised in a local newspaper. She continued to attend shows regularly and became a regular subscriber and volunteer for Passage. She then joined the Board in 2018 and is excited to take on the role of Board President starting this summer.

Caroline Wylie says "I am delighted to have the opportunity to serve the company, staff, and the Board of Trustees as President. I can’t wait to be an audience member once again in the Mill Hill Playhouse, when it is safe to do so, but in the meantime I am looking forward to the Fall/Winter virtual programming which will give audience members some ‘behind-the-scenes’ opportunities that are very exciting."

Judith Wooldridge served as Passage’s Board President for four years but has been an active member of the Board for more than 11 years. Over the course of her presidency, Ms. Wooldridge led the search for our current Artistic Director, C. Ryanne Domingues, led strategic planning for the organization, and presided over the growth of Passage’s annual budget and growth of the Board of Trustees. Managing Director, Damion Parran says “We are all extremely grateful for the many contributions Judith Wooldridge has made to Passage Theatre over the years! Ryanne and I are pleased that she will continue as a member of the Board in the coming year. We look forward to Caroline Wylie’s leadership as our new Board President.

In addition to the change in the Board of Trustee’s leadership, Passage has gained six new Board members in 2020: Matthew Cooper (Associate Provost for the Center for Learning & Technology at Thomas Edison State University), Euen Gunn (Senior Director R&D Johnson & Johnson), Rev. Brian Joyce (Trinity United Methodist Church, Ewing, NJ), Beth Reddy (Retired, Section Chief, NJ Department of Environmental Protection), D. Vance Smith (Professor, Department of English Princeton University), and Madhu M. Sonti (Senior Client Advisor of Wealth Management at PNC Bank).
