(NEWARK, NJ) --Invest Newark, Newark’s Economic Development Corporation, will host a webinar in partnership with Combs Enterprises to provide Newark minority-owned and women-owned small businesses with guidance on the SBA’s Payroll Protection Program (PPP). According to experts, based on how the SBA programs are structured, up to 90% of minority-owned and women-owned businesses have had a difficult time accessing financial assistance related to COVID-19 and will likely be shut out of PPP through a mainstream bank or lender. This webinar seeks to make the application process easier to complete and to ensure that Newark businesses understand Federal requirements subsequent for loan forgiveness.
The session will feature Mayor Ras J. Baraka, City of Newark, a discussion with Tarik Brooks, Chief Operating Officer, Combs Enterprises and John Lewis, Executive Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer, The Harbor Bank of Maryland as well as a PPP loan application tutorial.
