(SOMERS POINT, NJ) --  The hilarious and heart-breaking Steel Magnolias will be presented by Fool Moon Theatre on October 25, 26 & 27 and November 1, 2, & 3 at the Gateway Playhouse in Somers Point.  Steel Magnolias, the much beloved play by American writer Robert Harling, is a comedy-drama about the bond among a group of Southern women in northwest Louisiana. The production boasts a stunning all-women cast with Carrie Cohen as Truvy, Andrea Zakheim as M’Lynn, Jennifer Smith as Clairee, Meghan Rylie B as Shelby, and including Victoria Biron as Ouiser and Sutton Fineran as Annelle. Melissa Ford is stage managing the production.

Director Pattye Herron is excited to bring Steel Magnolias to the stage. “It’s rare that a show can deliver so much laughter and so much passion. I’m proud to working with a cast that breathes life into this amazing play.”

Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at the Gateway Playhouse by calling 609-653-0553 or are available for purchase online. Friday and Saturday performances will be at 7:30pm, and Sunday matinees will be at 2:00pm.

The critics of the Broadway production raved, "Harling has given his women sharp, funny dialogue…The play builds to a conclusion that is deeply moving." —NY Daily News. "…suffused with humor and tinged with tragedy." —NY Post.
