Award-Winning Horror Short Film "The Hunted" To Screen At NJ Horror Con and Film Festival

(ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- The horror short film, The Hunted, recently won the award for Best Horror/Thriller at the Brightside Film Festival on March 4th, 2019 at the Brightside Tavern in Jersey City, NJ. The film, written and directed by Jersey filmmaker Giancarlo Orellana, will be screened next at the NJ Horror Con and Film Festival, taking place at the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City the weekend of March 29th-31st, 2019. The film screens on Saturday March 30th at 10:52am. Orellana, Albarracin, and Meinders will be at their filmmaker table on the convention floor to promote The Hunted, by recreating the werewolf makeup shown in the film.

The film stars Lee Baptiste as Luke, a paranormal hunter who is able to see ghosts, and Liz Meinders as Claire, a young girl on the run from her lycanthropy. Both were nominated for Best Actor in Horror and Best Actress in Horror, respectively, at the Brightside Film Festival. The film also stars Becky Boggs, and Dan Gregory, who won the Rising Star Award at Brightside.

The Hunted was shot and produced entirely in Union City, NJ, and premiered at the 11th Annual NoHu International Short Film Festival in October 2018. Liz Meinders won Best Supporting Actress and the film's Head Special Effects Makeup Artist, Stephanie Albarracin, was awarded the Best SFX/Makeup Award at NoHu.
