Mile Square Theatre Presents It’s a Wonderful Life: a live radio play

(HOBOKEN, NJ) --  Mile Square Theatre, Hudson County’s leading professional theatre, revives its beloved production of It’s a Wonderful Life: a live radio play by Joe Landry. Mile Square Theatre becomes a live recording studio in the golden age of radio, and MST theatre goers become the studio audience as WMST “goes on air” to broadcast Frank Capra’s popular holiday story. The production begins performances on Thursday, November 29 and runs till Sunday, December 23.  


Broadway’s Next H!T Musical LIVE! at Toms River’s Grunin Center

It’s Friday, October 26, 2018, and the Broadway’s Next H!T Musical cast is just about ready to take the stage at the Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts, located on the campus of Ocean County College in Toms River, NJ.


East Lynne Theater Company presents "O. Henry's Christmas Tales"

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- "One dollar and eighty-seven cents. That's all I have, and tomorrow is Christmas," sighed Della in "The Gift of the Magi," just one of the O. Henry stories adapted and performed by Gayle Stahlhuth, who brings to life thirty-plus characters in her memorized, unique tour-de-force storytelling style. For seven times only, the award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company will present "O. Henry's Christmas Tales."  With the exception of "Gift of the Magi," these stories have never been performed before by Stahlhuth.  Performances take place on Friday and Saturday, November 23 and 24, Sunday, December 2, Thursday through Saturday, December 6 – 8, all at 8:00 p.m. with a 2:00 p.m. matinee on Saturday, December 8.

Light of Day Heads To Europe As It Enters 20th Year of Fighting Parkinson's

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) --  Having raised $5 million overall as it enters its 20th year battling Parkinson’s disease, the world-renowned Light of Day Foundation is once again preparing to take its global initiative overseas in the fight against Parkinson’s Disease overseas with the launch of its annual LIGHT OF DAY EUROPE holiday run.


State Theatre Presents Melissa Etheridge

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents Grammy® and Oscar® Award-winner Melissa Etheridge on Friday, November 30 at 8:00pm. In addition to her greatest hits, Etheridge is performing songs from her 2008 holiday album, A New Thought For Christmas. Songs will include holiday classics such as “Merry Christmas Baby,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” and “O Night Divine.” Tickets range from $45-$95.


Trenton Downtown Association Wins Multi-Year Grant to Present the Levitt AMP Trenton Music Series

(TRENTON, NJ) -- On November 1st, the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation named the Trenton Downtown Association as one of three nonprofits across the United States to win a new, $75K multi-year matching grant over the next three years to present the Levitt AMP Music Series. The two other nonprofits to win the multi-year matching grant are Middlesboro Main Street in Middlesboro, Ky.; and the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, Wis. Each of these nonprofits has received annual Levitt AMP grants during the past four consecutive years.


Iron Maiden Announces 2 Local Dates

(BROOKLYN, NY) -- IRON MAIDEN will bring the Legacy Of The Beast Tour to North America in 2019 for an extensive series of arena and amphitheater shows. The tour will cover a total of 33 cities right across the U.S.A. and Canada.  New Jersey does not have a show scheduled as of yet, but the band will perform on July 26 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY and July 30 at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.  Support on the 2019 tour comes from The Raven Age. 


PODCAST: Grammy Winner Terri Lyne Carrington At TD James Moody Jazz Festival

Drummer, leader, and composer Terri Lyne Carrington made history as the first woman to win a Grammy for Best Instrumental Jazz for her album “Money Jungle: Provocative in Blue.” Now, she brings her interpretation of Duke Ellington’s “Money Jungle” to the TD James Moody Jazz Festival at NJPAC on November 11, 2018, as part of a program called “Jazz Vinyl Revisited.” Producer Susan Wallner talks to Carrington about her connections to the jazz greats Clark Terry and Max Roach; her newest project, the Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice; and why she thinks drummers make natural leaders.


Westminster Jubilee Singers Presents "Examine Me"

​​​​​​​(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Westminster Jubilee Singers will present a concert titled “Examine Me” on Sunday, November 18 at 7:30pm in Bristol Chapel on the campus of Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton. Led by the ensemble’s conductor, Vinroy D. Brown, Jr., the program explores the Psalter (book of Psalms) and includes settings by African American composers.

Lauren Whearty To Present Lecture At MCCC

(WEST WINDSOR, NJ) -- An artist’s unique approach to creating art will be the topic of an upcoming lecture at Mercer County Community College (MCCC). “Pieces of Things” is the title of a lecture by Lauren Whearty, a painter and co-director at the artist-run gallery Ortega y Gasset Projects in Brooklyn, which will be delivered on Wednesday, November 14 at noon in the Communications Building, Room 109. Her talk is part of MCCC’s fall 2018 Distinguished Lecture Series at the West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Women's Rights Information Center To Host 6th Annual #GivingTuesday Wine & Chocolate Fundraiser

(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- New Jersey-based nonprofit for women, Women’s Rights Information Center, invites the giving community to join them at their 6th annual Giving Tuesday Wine & Chocolate on Tuesday, November 27 from 5:30pm-8:30pm. This event helps to raise awareness and support the Center’s mission of empowering women, to celebrate the successes of women as they move forward in their lives, and to gather together for some fun.

RVCC Planetarium to Present Holiday Shows, Star Shows, Laser Concerts in December

​​​​​​​(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- The Raritan Valley Community College Planetarium in Branchburg is offering a variety of star shows and laser concerts for the entire family in December, including holiday programs to help make the season especially merry and bright. In addition, a special Winter Solstice Saturday program will feature free, hands-on activities for all ages.


Citizens for a Diverse & Open Society Celebrates 4th Anniversary Group Counters Racism Through Unity and Love

(RED BANK, NJ) -- The organization, Citizens for a Diverse & Open Society (CDOS) embarked on a journey four years ago to create better race relations in the community and their action-oriented agenda is making a difference. The group, which was founded by Sid Bernstein and Gilda Rogers, will celebrate its 4th Anniversary on November 15, 2018, at Pilgrim Baptist Church, at 7:00pm. All are welcome. The group meets every third Thursday of each month at the church located at 172 Shrewsbury Ave., Red Bank.
