Dreamcatcher presents NJ Premiere of "Dead and Buried"

(SUMMIT, NJ) -- Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, professional theatre in residence at Oakes Center in Summit, is producing the New Jersey Premiere of Dead and Buried by James McLindon. This dark comedy, set in a cemetery right before Halloween, tells the story of three people who want what they can’t have, but get what they need from each other. Dead and Buried runs September 27-October 14, 2018.


New Feathers Productions Announces Shorts, Cast, and Director For November 1st

(NEW HOPE, PA) -- New Feathers Productions producers, Mandee K. Hammerstein, Greg T. Nanni and new addition to the producing team, John Augustine, have announced the selected shorts, cast and director for their upcoming series re-launch November 1 at the James A. Michener Art Museum.  First unveiled in 2017, New Feathers’ ongoing mission is to professionally produce reading series, dedicated to offering a voice and welcoming forum while showcasing new, literary works by established and emerging playwrights.


George Street Playhouse’s Educational Touring Theatre Musical ANYTOWN premieres at Spotlight Conference about the Opioid Crisis

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) --  George Street Playhouse’s Educational Touring Theatre, courtesy of support from The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey and RWJBarnabas Health, will premiere a new musical about the opioid crisis and its impact on teens and families. This original musical was developed in response to the devastating impact prescription opioid misuse, heroin, and fentanyl have had on communities throughout New Jersey. Anytown will premiere on September 25, 2018 at George Street Playhouse as part of a special Spotlight Conference on Opioid Abuse.  The Spotlight Conference will feature a keynote address from New Jersey State Attorney General Gurbir Grewal along with workshops for educators, school administrators, and public health professionals conducted by experts in the field from RWJBarnabas Health’s Institute for Prevention and Recovery.  


2nd Annual Theater Week in Cape May

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- If one wishes to immerse him or herself in theater, and save money, then the 2nd Annual Theater Week in Cape May, from September 26-30, is the perfect time for both.  The week includes the New Jersey premiere of "Silent Sky", the World Premiere of "The Shuck",  and "Meet the Locals."


Ritz Opens Season With "Incorruptible"

Fun seems to be the operative word for “Incorruptible,” the production that opens the fall season at  the Ritz Theatre Company on Thursday, September 13.


Paper Mill Playhouse Completes Renovations In Time For Its 80th Anniversary Season

(MILLBURN, NJ) -- Paper Mill Playhouse has completed interior renovations to the historic theater in time for their 80th anniversary season.  The interior of the theater was renovated over the summer of 2018, including replacement of all the theater’s seating. Theater supporters are invited to contribute to the seat campaign by purchasing a name plaque as part of the theater’s “Name a Seat” fundraiser. This lays the foundation for a greater capital campaign for the Millburn theater.

Lewis Center For The Arts Presents a reading with Li-Young Lee and Lynn Nottage

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- On Wednesday, September 26, award-winning poet and memoirist Li-Young Lee and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and screenwriter Lynn Nottage will read from their work as part of the Althea Ward Clark W’21 Reading Series of the Program in Creative Writing at the Lewis Center for the Arts. The reading, beginning at 7:30pm in the Wallace Theater at the Lewis Arts complex on the Princeton University campus, is free and open to the public. In response to audience feedback, all readings for this year’s series will move from 4:30pm to a 7:30pm evening time slot.
